My friend and I were looking for some hot soup to warm after a tiring day of skiing. She had the Pho Tai and I had the Chicken Noodle Soup. We both got the small bowls which had generous portions and were very filling and . The server answered all our questions. If I'm in the area again, I would eat here again.

The pho and banh mi were delicious! Would have gave it 5 stars since the food was really good but our servers was kinda awkward. Cash only as well.

Thís ís a decent place. Vietnamese food here are average. (We've ordered grilled meat vermicelli, bbq over rice, and wonton soup.). If you are REAL picky with traditional Vietnamese food and love Vietnamese food in the cities such as San Jose, Garden Grove, WestMinster, etc. in California, then you wouldn't like this place. Good customer service! Reasonable price. They accept credit cards payment, but It will be 3% additional charge for credit card transaction.

Can't decide if I want to give this place 3 or 4 stars. We had the beef pho here and the broth was delicious. I ended up slurping up all the soup after I finished the noodles and meat. The food was a bit slow to arrive at our table. Tried to use the 20% off with Yelp check-in but was told December 27th, Friday was a holiday. Prices were a bit higher than other pho places. The restraunt was more spacious inside than it looks outside. The other thing I noticed was that the tables were higher than usual. 3% surcharge if you want to use your credit card.

Fast service. One of the few restaurants opened past 10pm. Decent pho though there could have been more meat.

Restaurant foods is average 3.5 stars for the foods that we order). 1 Star for services. There were a few Vietnamese restaurants near by our hotel. Since we never try any of them before, I picked Pho Cali cos it offer 20% off on Yelp. But when we show her the coupon at the time we pay for the bill, she said we can't use it because you can't use it on the holiday. BUT, the day we went were 12/23/2019 (Monday). Maybe I was wrong but doesn't holiday means 12/25, 1/1, 7/4 and etcs. Not the week of the holiday. If that's the case then it should have said that on the coupon. Yes, in the end it's just 20% off but cos of the 20% off, we ordered more things to tried. Kinda feel like being trick, just not being honest. Coupon --20% off Monday-Friday (except for holiday). So, if you are going to this restaurant to try and cos of the 20% off, make sure you ask if you can use the coupon before sitting down. Overall, I would not go back!

Great mix of Asian Cuisine without breaking the budget. Personally I'm a fan of the ba me Hoagies.

Pho Cali (the old pho king) is the best pho place in town. It is commonly known as pho 777 but ever since they've gotten so popular they have become lazy and care less for their customers. Pho cali, on the other hand, is a beautiful restraint with not too many people. It has very good pho and also other things on the menu, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Following an afternoon Discovery Museum excursion with the kids on a blustery day, my family group decided to warm up with a visit to Pho Cali in the heart of downtown Reno. The menu is voluminous, including plenty of Chinese and other Asian dishes alongside the Vietnamese goodies. Following a lengthy bit of menu consideration, we finally settled on a game plan. Although there are plenty of appetizers to choose from, everyone always wants to start off with fresh spring rolls when dining ala Vietnamese or Thai. We chose the combo pork and shrimp rice paper rolls ($6.25), stuffed with plenty of mint, cilantro, vermicelli, and lettuce, with a decent peanut sauce for dunking. My grandson loved the "peanut butter" on his "cold burrito". The rolls were followed by orders of grilled mussels ($12.25) and clams in black bean sauce ($13.95), both exceptionally good. The mussels were sprinkled with chopped peanut and minced, sauteed celery, carrot, and scallion, garnished with lime wedges and sprigs of long-leaf Vietnamese coriander. The flavor of the meat was very present--with perhaps a hint of fish sauce--and not a bit dry. Tossed with perfectly cooked celery, red bell pepper, and onion in their sauce of garlic, ginger, scallion, and fermented black soybean, there was plenty to share around the table. Often when I see banh mi on the appetizer menu, I expect something small enough you might enjoy with soup. Not so with this big-ass grilled beef sandwich ($6.25), featuring ample amounts of fresh veggies and tender meat, in a rich sauce with a little kick. The housemade, crusty roll filled the plate. However, it was reminiscent of the "unfortunate burrito syndrome", i.e., one bite is sour cream, another is guac, and--oh wait--there's the cheese. The sandwich ingredients were added in succession from the seam of the roll outward--instead of layered atop each other--and you couldn't really get all the goods into one bite. A cold noodle bowl ($8.95) of vermicelli, grilled pork, shredded lettuce, mint leaf, bean sprout, pickled carrot, chopped peanut, lightly seasoned with sweet vinegar fish sauce was tasty, though the noodles were ice cold rather than the more usual room temp. A plate of seafood fried rice ($10.50) with shrimp, shrimp patty, squid, peas, carrot, corn, green bean, scallion, and cilantro was hot, satisfying, and didn't require additional seasoning. We had asked for another rice dish, but instead received two plates of the same thing. It was good enough we just shrugged and rolled with it. Rice noodle chicken soup ($9.25, large) was simple, yet full of tender breast meat and al dente broccoli. My go-to pho dac biet ($9.25, small) didn't disappoint, the vermicelli combined with medium rare steak, flank, brisket, tendon, tripe, and meatball in a flavorful broth, to which I added plenty of bean sprout, Thai basil, lime, and a bit of jalapeno. It was everything I was hoping for. As good as my beefy pho was, I suffered a bit of envy over a bowl of wor wonton soup ($11.25). Yeah, there were plenty of meaty dumplings, but they were overshadowed by a flurry of shrimp, squid, shrimp patty, chicken, grilled pork, zucchini, carrot, cabbage, broccoli, scallion, celery, mushroom, and peapods. The broth was a little bland, but the meats and veggies were great. Touched up with side items and condiments, it was just the thing for a chilly autumn evening.
