Good beef and chicken Kababs with mild flavors. The added stew and salad were good additions. Suggestions: Try to branch out and be adventurous with flavors, encourage eat-in diners by being more welcoming, add dipping sauces for kababs, heat up bread just a bit and offer water for those who eat at the restaurant.

Heard about a new restaurant serving Afghan food and had to try it. Went in on a Wednesday night and ordered the Qabeli Palaow, which was rice mixed with raisins, carrots, and lamb. It came with a side salad and meatball curry, which had delicious potatoes. Everything was really good.

This is a restaurant conveniently located near the conjunction of 3 casinos, the Silver Legacy, the Eldorado and Circus Circus. You can either eat the overpriced bland food from the hotels or walk across the street and eat delicious Afghanistan Food. We had the Qabeli Palaow, a dish with Basmati rice and lamb, the Chicken Gyro Wrap and the Shami Kabab plate. All were great! This is a no frills place served in styrofoam containers, but it's delicious home cooking. Give it a try.

This is a fairly new restaurant that just opened up in downtown Reno. It is an Afghanistan restaurant that offers some authentic Afgan dishes and other options that people would be familiar with such as kabobs. The restaurant is huge, and spacious, but a little bare. Mind you it is new. The owner was very kind, he recommend me to try their specialty being their Quabeli Palaw which was a rice and lamb dish. The food was fantastic, it was clearly made to order and not sitting around. Good size of portion, but I was hoping for it to be a little more flavor packed and maybe a bit more spice. Also it seemed like they gave store bought bread or nann adjacent, which I wish they made in house as well. I would love to go back again and try some other dishes. Sadly you can't substitute your meat options or food options either. For example they only offer a chicken gyro, and will not allow you to do lamb or another meat instead. My dish was around 18 bucks and another 3 bucks for a can of soda, which is a bit much. But loved the food, happy to see a place sharing their culture through food, and I am rooting for them.

I recently visited a new restaurant in the area, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the reasonable prices. The restaurant offers a wide variety of halal options for Muslim diners, making it a great choice for those looking for halal restaurants in the area. The food was delicious, with a variety of flavors and ingredients that made the meal enjoyable. The portions were generous and the prices were fair. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for good food at a fair price with plenty of halal options.

The food was very good, but the service is slow. However, I think only one person was working, and had to do it all! Hopefully they find some more help soon if that's the problem.

I would give another half star if I could. The food was good but I got the veggie curry and it was about 5 bites of curry and a ton of rice and a very small piece of bread. Expected the curry to be the main dish. Food is served in a to go container with plastic ware but maybe that is due to their location downtown and that is what is convenient. Nobody was there the 1.5 hours we were which again is probably due to the location, no parking and downtown Reno just isn't as vibrant and lively as it used to be. If the curry would have been in the big box and rice in the small, it would have been a better option.

My husband and I tried this place out after we saw it one night driving down Virginia Street. There's not a lot of parking directly next to it. We parked at Circus Circus and walked the couple blocks. We ordered the Lamb Kebab and Qabeli Palaow plates to share. The owner took our order and served us once the food was ready. This place is casual, for sure, and no frills (the restaurant is fairly bare, save for soft music and a few TVs).But the food....is fantastic. The lamb kebab was delicious and tender. The Qabeli Palaow is pure comfort food and I could have eaten bowls and bowls of it. The rice is fragrant, delicious and it's clear lots of care goes into the food. It's comforting and ample. We had a wonderful time and, as I work downtown, I will be taking advantage of Rice and Kebab's Doordash option as much as I can.We will certainly be back!

A hidden gem in downtown Reno. The wife and I just tried this for the first time, and it is a MUST. We came in and the owner was warm in welcoming us and asked if this was our first time. We said yes, and he recommended Qabeli Palaow, which is the National Afghan dish - wonderfully braised lamb, carrot and raisin on top of beautifully cooked basmati rice - a perfect dish that has quickly become a new comfort food for me. We also had the Lamb Kebab Plate, which was a nice and juicy marinated lamb over basmati rice. Each of the dishes came with a salad, bread and a meatball curry that could also be a great dipping sauce for the bread. I'm definitely coming back. You should come in for some amazing food with great service.

My friend and I dropped in here the other day because it was open and on the way home. We are so glad we did! The food was spectacular, we asked what they recommended and they suggested the Qabeli Palaow and it did not disappoint! Next time we will probably get that and a kabab. The restaurant was clean and the service was great. We will be back!

I never tried Afghan cuisine before, and I loved it! So glad to have a new food option downtown. I thought it was like a middle-eastern, Mediterranean fusion with the spices and flavors of Afghanistan. Everything was cooked perfect and pretty reasonable for downtown. Highly reccomend Rice & Kabab

Wanted to try this place out since it's newer in the neighborhood and wasn't disappointed. We got a #1 and #6. Both were very good and they even made the gyro with lamb for us and it was great. Will definitely come back. I hear they are open late on the weekend and downtown doesn't have many late night options.
