I stopped by for lunch. I ordered the blackened salmon, mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The meal was tasty. The waitress was attentive. The restraunt was not busy so I was able view the memorabilia on the walls. This was fun looking at photos, posters and other memorabilia. If you are coming to Reno, Nevada be sure to stop by Mels. I am glad that I stopped by.

Only gave 4 stars because I went to have a hot fudge Sunday and of course they were out of it, After waiting in line almost a 1/2 an hour to get seated. In all fairness it was also bike week, very good Milkshake instead Excellent menu service was great.

No frills 50s-style diner but thats partially the charm. Servers are usually super friendly and always down to chat when not swamped during busy seasons. (Get there before 7am in late August/ early September ?)Breakfast is super solid, chocolate pancakes and Mel's potatoes are especially tasty! (My personal go-to: wolfman jack, over easy ?, sub the choco chip for regular 'cakes...+ some whipped cream if u feelin feisty)For more lunchtime fare, the burgers are very yummy...
