We have been going to this sushi restaurant since it opened. As time has passed, they have added more and more rice to the rolls. SO MUCH RICE!! They have also gotten very strict on leaving too many pieces of sushi uneaten. They will charge you if you have 1/2 roll left uneaten. I understand if this is their policy, however I would highly suggest putting a notice somewhere that the “rules” (wherever they are written) are being enforced. I think we will choose one of the many other sushi restaurants in the area.

My whole family loves JJs! We have been going here around once every couple of months since they opened over 10 years ago. Delicious rolls, and their miso is my favorite of all the AYCE places in town.

The server was decent. The sushi was not. The rolls were bland and not delicious. The nigiri was not particularly good. The worst part was the egregious use of sushi rice. It was literally 3-1 rice to fish ratio. I have no problem with rice. I think it's an important part of rolls, and nigiri. Amongst my friends and family, I am the person least likely to complain about "too much rice". The amount of rice in every roll and piece of nigiri was almost offensive. After a few rolls and nigiri, I was deeply disappointed and finished the meal with a few appetizers (mussels, and seaweed salad), since I was so tired of eating so much rice, and the overall taste. I should have read the reviews, since I'm not the only one complaining about the same issues. All in all, I unfortunately would not recommend this place to anyone. The sushi game in Reno is strong and there is a lot of competition. This place isn't it.
