I am sorry but the food was not very good. I have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years. We had breakfast today. The pancakes were awful. You needed a spoon to eat them cause they just fell completely apart. The sausage was burnt. The gravy on the biscuit well it needed help. The Iron Skillet is a cozy restaurant located within a casino and gas station complex. Although the establishment may appear a bit dated, the food is highly praised by customers. The menu offers a variety of healthy options, and diners have particularly enjoyed the rare steak dishes. The atmosphere is simple and clean, with quick and friendly service that makes for a satisfying meal. Many guests have been pleasantly surprised by delicious dishes like shrimp and cod dinners, as well as the shrimp basket appetizer with fries. The grilled green beans are especially popular, and while the mashed potatoes may not be the best, the overall experience is positive. The restaurant provides a good place to eat whether passing through or looking for a hearty meal, with attentive staff ensuring a pleasant visit. Regular visitors highlight the exceptional food, friendly service, and memorable moments, making it a recommended stop for both locals and travelers. Customers note that the food comes out quick, hot, and fresh, with well-cooked chicken, smooth brown gravy on mashed potatoes, and a soft roll that seems just right. Service is consistently friendly and attentive, and many find that the restaurant has redeemed itself after previous disappointing experiences. Although prices have risen, the quality and taste have kept it a favorite for some. However, others feel that the place is a bit expensive for what it offers, with limited options in the small town and some outdated decor. Still, for those seeking a hearty meal, Iron Skillet remains a convenient choice.
