Unfortunately the outlets have closed. Such a shame. Wish I knew this last week when I was there. I would have really stocked up.

I found this place to be a little depressing. It's an outlet, so it's to be expected to not look like a typical store, but I didn't realize that would mean the walls would be stark white and completely devoid of decoration, not unlike a waiting room at an ER. Moving past the striking lack of ambience, there seems to be a lot of empty space with products haphazardly slapped on a few folding tables and slung into shelves along the walls. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the range of items: from breads to peanut butter to chips and salsa and everything in between. I found quite a few products I have never seen in stores before (i.e "cake truffles"). Another review mentioned this which is what made me check, but after coming home I looked at the expiration dates on the three products we purchased and all expire within the next 2 days. Overall, if you are in the area and have 10 minutes to kill I would recommend stopping by, but otherwise you are really just paying barely discounted prices for nearly expired food.

It's unfortunate that the number of these outlets is dwindling (they're down to 3 as of this review). Their merchandise is standard among them. But I learned a few things at my first visit here today: - Some days are better than others for visiting here. For example, on Thursdays, the inventory is pretty skimpy. That's because on Wednesdays, seniors receive a 10% discount, and many of the popular and more expensive items will be depleted - cookies is the best example here. The same is probably true on Tuesdays, since they offer a military service discount on Mondays. - When redeeming coupons such as from the "Clipper" types of magazines, they sometimes differentiate between in-house products (i.e., Friehofer products and their affiliates such as Thomas' and Arnold), and the special discounts may not apply to those that aren't. - And for all of their outlets, keep in mind that some of the products are here because they are close to their "best by" expiration dates. I've had English Muffins from the other outlets go bad within a few days unless they are not used quickly or frozen. Apart from these caveats, however, you know exactly what you're getting here, which is good if you like Freihofer products and especially if you are budget conscious.

This is a great store. The bread is so reasonably priced, why would anyone want to pay regular price. The staff is always helpful and kind.

My wife and I are not from the area, so the word "Freihofer" isn't something that is part of our engrained culture, but I have eaten their cookies at parties and purchased their baked goods before. When we lived in Clifton Park, we would sometimes frequent their bakery outlet store up there. When that closed, we went to the one in Cohoes (which is also now closed). Recently, I decided to stop by here after driving past it for years. It isn't a large store, but it did have at least several dozen types of baked goods (bread, rolls, bagels, muffins, english muffins, etc.) in an assortment of flavors. They also had peanut butter, jelly, chips, pretzels, pastries, and other food products. They did have some sales (3 of ___ for $3; 2/$4, etc.) but none of the prices screamed "GOOD DEAL" unless you bought off of their manager's special table. Beyond that, their prices seemed comparable to the sales you might find at a regular supermarket. That being said, it is fun to come in and think you are getting a bargain on certain things like cookies or bagels. If you buy the ones that are about to expire, you are! Otherwise, it is an okay store with a friendly employee serving normal stuff and decent prices.
