Truly an authentic Italian food experience! Loved the fact our wine was organic and the food was organic as well. We will definitely be back! Thank you for an incredible experience .

Highly recommended this lovely, feel good restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The food is exceptional. We each had one appetizer (4) and all were delicious and full of flavours. Pasta was all denté and tasty; made fresh. All our culinary needs were met fully.

Food was delicious however, three of the special ravioli dishes were cold as were the mash potatoes on the stuffed chicken. We were a party of 8 and the service was JUST. We were not very needy and she seemed overwhelmed. I will return to the Chefs Table only.

Birthday dinner success everyone but my jar sauce daughter loved there food . We had 3 orders of the Chicken francese which was cooked to perfection . I had the Puttacesa pasta the pasta was fresh I love a lot of sauce and it was well sauced but not over done. We also had the Ragu so delicious . The front of house staff was busy but they rocked it with smiles .You would be doing yourself a disservice if you don't try Cafe Capriccio. Thank you Dan and Jen excellent service .

For the past sevral years my wife and I have celebrated oour anniversary at Cafe Capriccio, because we find its ambiance to be nothing short of romantic. It was also a real treat to connect with chef Franco Rua, a former middle school English student of mine. The food was AWESOME and the overall experience was outstanding. The restaurant is a true Albany treasure.

Dinner before a show was terrific. The service was outstanding and dinner was delicious. Highly recommend Cafe Cappricio to all that look for a quality dinner and excellent service. The drinks were awesome as well!

We loved Cafe Capriccio for our first visit. Our server Jennifer couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We dined with another couple and shared the scrumptious meatballs, eggplant parm and burrata salad for appetizers then tried 3 different pastas, the duck. confit, shrimp, and ravioli and also the seafood special which was seared scallops and saffron risotto. They were all very good, but it was the combination of good food, old school fun environment and great service that will bring us back again! Favorite dish was the meatballs in a delicious red sauce!

I visit Albany a few times a year and always venture here for dinner. It never disappoints! The food is amazing. I highly recommend the stuffed eggplant, which I tried this time around. It was FANTASTIC. The service is always very polite, attentive, and top-notch. If you are in the Albany area, make a reservation! You will need one as the place gets packed and stays that way until close. Delicious food, great atmosphere, and worth every penny!

Ordered the steak and gorgonzola gnoccis, which was like the best mac and cheese on the planet combined with steak and mushrooms in a brown sauce. It was OUTSTANDING!! The service was good, ambience was very comfortable and quiet. Wines were good and also quite expensive.

It was our first visit to Cafe Capriccio. We were in town to take in a show at the MVP facility but the show was canceled. We were able to find another show but it was much earlier and the staff accommodated us with an earlier seating. Everyone at the cafe was lovely, food was delicious and the ambience reminded me of meals enjoyed at the Italian restaurants of the same age in Atlantic City. In one word, "GO"

First impression when our party of 4 entered was the musty smell of the restaurant. Portions were small for the high price of the food. One person in our party did not like their meal and said it was tasteless. The waiter offered to replace it but the person was hungry and ate it anyway. We had to flag our waitress a couple of times to get her over to our table to refill our water. It was't worth the money we paid and we won't be back.

We always love Café Capricio everything from starting out with cocktails at the bar and our mushroom meatballs and burrata appetizers to our entrées and then our delicious desserts and then we will stop at the bar for an after dinner cocktail, but the service is absolutely impeccable. The food is always spot on and everything is absolutely incredible every single time!!

Reservation system -very poor. Never before have there been so frequent, changing and confusing communications - most which required return telephone calls to solidify reservation. Ambiance - back patio was sequestered/quiet, but tables were unbalanced and sloping, seating uncomfortable. One does need an escort to find the pathway to the garden - through a different door/building/past the kitchen. Facilities should be pointed out to guests during the travel to the patio, as staff was not accessible to gain that information if the need arose. Service - wine should NOT come out after a course is already on the table, glasses with wine still in them should not be cleared - without at least checking with patron; don't ask patron questions when they are putting food in their mouth or obviously chewing. Check for needs with patron more timely. Food - excellent- very pleased! However, wonderful food does not need to be served in tavern-sized quantities. smaller portion are more elegant and leave opportunity to explore additional courses or other items on the menu.

Our entire meal experience was as close to perfect as you could get. We had 2 appetizers, one a deep fried shrimp and fennel, a different and very tasty combo. We each ordered specials, halibut and a veal ragu. The halibut was cooked perfectly and served with a saffron risotto that was creamy and delicious. The ragu was scrumptious. We practically licked our plates clean. For dessert we shared a flourless chocolate cake, another winner. Our main server was knowledgeable but we had others helping out too so service was great. Everything was wonderful about this meal, which was an anniversary gift from our daughter. We plan to return and hope it's just as good.
