Cafe Capriccio continues to offer a great experience on all levels! We will keep coming back!

My husband and I are soooo happy we decided to go to Cafe Capriccio for Valentine's Day this year! We actually booked a little early and didn't know they'd be having a prix fixe menu but Carly was amazing in contacting us and coordinating everything so we would still be able to go! The food, as usual, was amazing. For appetizers, my husband had the grilled octopus and I had the crab cake. For main course, we both had their filet mignons. For dessert, my husband had the pistachio cake and I had tiramisu. Our server was also very attentive and the other staff were also amazing. It was obviously busier than normal since it's Valentine's so we understood if our server wasn't able to attend to us like any server would on a normal day but the entire team was amazing and I could tell they all knew how to feel things out and help each other. Hats off to you guys! Keep it up, you're all amazing. And like I said on my Instagram story, Cafe Capriccio is the place to go to for ANY occasion. 10/10!

Calamari Neri was amazing. Strip steak perfectly prepared. Sorrento, a perennial staple awesome.

Although we have been to this establishment multiple times, beside the fact that several items were not available on the menu and this was a 5:00 reservation which I feel was early enough that you should not have been out of items, so items that we did order lacked flavor. ‘

As usual the food was exceptional; we had the ravioli of the day which was burata, the eggplant appetizer, beet salad and pasta Bolognese. I will say our server seemed quite an experienced. He didn't know the types of bourbon. He tried to pour my bottle of water into everyone else's glasses when I had ordered it for myself. The drinks took a long time to come. But we still enjoyed it. From being seated to paying the check I think we were served by three different people so it was a little confusing.

“Date night dinner” before a show at the Palace. Excellent service and timing, and the food was delicious. Will do this again!

Capriccio is avery nice place to have dinner but it's pricey. It's located in a less than reputable part of town with a great view of the projects. The atmosphere inside is warm and comfortable. Being from a very Italian family, I'm hard to please. The meatballs were a bit dense and hard to cut but the eggplant was excellent.

Another fabulous meal at my favorite restaurant in Albany. The quality of the food is matched by the quality service provided by the staff.

Always a pleasure to share a meal in this old-world dining environment. Staff pleasant and attentive, food delicious! Walking distance to the MVP Arena, reservation at 5:15, out of there with plenty of time before the show. Highly recommend, and look forward to introducing “new friends” to one of Albany's finest restaurants.

I haven't been to Café Capriccio since they moved the restaurant a ross Madison Ave from the original. The original Café Capri was one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever experienced The quality of the food at this restaurant was nowhere near the quality of the original restaurant I would say compared to other restaurants the food was average, not quite worth the price. Another disappointment was the requirement of ordering all of your food at once rather than having a little bit of time to settle in. The service was adequate.

Evan S provided excellent service. We enjoyed the striped bass special. It was tasty and had the right amount of spice. The ricotta ravioli special with a creamy tomato sauce was delicious. The tiramisu was one of the best we have had.

Have been to Cafe Capriccio numerous times, over the past 30 years, and we do LOVE it! This last visit was different. We had a very earlier reservation (5:15pm) because we were coming from the MVP area, after a disappointing car show, and then we had theater tickets for candlelight concert. The restaurant filled up very quickly, and I would assume they were planning a seating after the first groups. But I have to admit I felt rushed! We did not tell the staff that we had plans, so we could have been planning a nice relaxing meal. We were not told that the staff was working as a team, as soon as the one waitress took our cocktail order (which came out wrong) another waitress came to take our order. She was wearing washed out blue jeans, not very profesional, and quickly ran off to the kitchen. The Maitra-d asked her a question but she said she needed to "put their order in before I forget it" The dishes as usual were delicious. We will be back and see how that goes.

Food was good but pricey for the portion size. One portion of bread for a table of six. Service was good .

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The food, the service, the cocktails, the dessert - all amazing. This is a special place in the heart of Downtown Albany.
