The food and atmosphere were very nice, as always. It seemed that perhaps our waitress was inexperienced though. She brought our salads and entrees out at the same time. Also, when queried about the house cabernet savignon, she stated that it was a Josh wine. When she brought the bottle over, it did not appear to be any of the Joseph Carr wines. I even googled it to confirm that but didn't correct the waitress. The one she gave us was decent but NOY a Joseph Carr/Josh wine. Again, maybe inexperience??? I expected better from the wait staff there but I still go back.
Came here before a concert. The food is always good here, sometimes a bit salty. The meatloaf special was very good. Nice wine selection list, including some NY wines. Service was a bit rushed, as the server actually removed a dishes while we were eating from it-twice. Not sure why, as there were a few empty tables when we left. Very reliable restaurant, good menu. Sometimes noisy.
My wife and I sat at the bar and were treated to great service from the bartender. He made a great dirty gin martini and a very nice old fashioned. We shared a very tasty Indonesian Stir Fried Noodles entree and a 4x4 Onion/Cheese Soup appetizer.
It's a great ambience and a good location for events in downtown Albany. The burgers came out so raw, they had to be remade. They came again just right and with freh pommes frittes. The pretzel bites are delicious.
We had a fantastic dinner at dp An American Brasserie to celebrate my birthday. One of my children has peanut and tree nut allergies, and we were so impressed by how well the staff handled it. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and very thorough—double-checking with the kitchen and clearly communicating what was safe for her to eat. When each dish was served, she confirmed again what was allergen-free, which really put us at ease. While we skipped dessert (the ice creams and sorbets my daughter wanted are made in facilities with tree nuts), everything else was delicious and beautifully prepared. We shared a burrata and tomato appetizer, my daughter enjoyed the kids' burger and fries, and the rest of the table had the steak frite, and PEI mussels. We also enjoyed cocktails, wine, and the best Shirley Temple with extra cherries! This has been a favorite date night spot for my husband and me for years. The service, food, and overall atmosphere are always excellent. We're already looking forward to coming back!
It was good, but appetizer portions were super small for the price. Overall prices were pretty steep in my opinion for what they served. Server was great though. Probably wouldn't go back due to the price & was nothing special.
Amazing restaurant, quality food, and wonderful staff. My mom and I stayed in the hotel connected to this place for the Pat Benatar concert. She unfortunately forgot to reserve a seat at any restaurant and we couldn't find anywhere to eat. Some of the staff, namely Alice, was INCREDIBLE and found us a spot and treated us amazingly. Safe to say, we'll remember to reserve a seat next time, but this was very appreciated. If I had to come here again I would be ecstatic. Thank you!
Came here for dinner as part of a larger group. Service and drinks were good. The pulled short rib sandwich was good but pricey. The Asian noodle dish looked good, and I might go for that another time.
Interesting and fun food! Great drinks and we recommend the clarified rum specials. It is a great place for a Friday night date night.

`Had 5:30 reservation and we were offered the worst table in the room: right by the door, in a pretty empty restaurant. When asked for a different table, we were told everything is reserved and this is the ONLY table we can be offered, because there were 3 people in our party and other tables were for larger parties. We also had reservation, so not sure how the tables get assigned to the reservations. Not to mention, our table was for 4 people. After we ordered drinks and food, the hostess came and offered to move us to the nice round table by the window, but ONLY if we leave by 7, because that table was reserved for 7 pm. Really???? Is it because the restaurants don't favor the reservations made through Open Table, because this keeps happening to us...? The waitress was very sweet, though. It was my husband's birthday and I wanted to make it special. Didn't work as planned...
Wonderful early Friday nite dinner after touring the New York State museum and Capitol. Quick walk to restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Highly recommend!
Food delish and top notch service provided by Alice our friendly knowledgeable server. Alice was very personable & we enjoyed chatting with her . Great all around experience.
This restaurant is a longtime staple of the downtown Albany restaurant scene and consistently delivers very well executed food off of a true brasserie style menu. Had a business dinner. Both myself and my associate ordered the steak cobb salad. Perfectly executed and presented plates and the steak portions were cooked exactly as requested. Quality meat. Reasonably priced wines by the glass and well made cocktails. Service was on point throughout. Although we did not try the evening's features, they added to the overall menu options. If you are in town for business or attending a show or event at the arena, this is a excellent place for a business dinner or pre-show meal. They do it right here.
First time visitors from out of town, we decided to have dinner in downtown. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening! Friday night and the brasserie was full of happy patrons. The food and drinks were delicious. Duck cassoulet and the evening special of fried chicken and duck fat fries really hit the spot. Service was attentive and friendly. Really happy we had dinner and dessert here. Only negatives: Parking was a little challenging but found a spot on the street a few blocks away and the noise level is very high. Would love to return when passing through town again!
