A hidden gem!!!! I finally made it to Fairy last Friday after reading many reviews and personal recommendations and now I'm just a peeved at myself for waiting this long. I love spicy foods so discovering an authentic Sichuan restaurant within close vicinity makes me so happy. The space itself is located on a block of downtown Albany that happily reminds me of my time in NYC. The population here is diverse and representative of many countries and cultures from around the world. As soon as we walked in to the restaurant we were greeted by a friendly host who seated us right away and offered to pay the meter for the parking. If you are looking for a fancy table cloth experience, this is not it but I PROMISE you, the formalities will be forgotten as soon as you start eating. The food is awesome and every dish we ordered was so flavorful. The portions are huge so bring your appetite. For the amount of food we ordered the check was reasonable and definitely worth the trip. I'm definitely adding Fairy to my list of places to visit frequently.

Excellent food. Sichuan specialties I have not seen anywhere else in the region. If you have not tried before, this is a great place to start because the staff are happy to describe dishes and help make selections. The Cumin Lamb and Spicy Cucumber and Woods Ear salad were our favorite of the dishes we tried.

Over priced. Food is ok. nothing extraordinary. They charge one dollar for rice which I never experienced before. Rice comes as complimentary dish.

I never put up bad reviews but im really disappointed with this place. I ordered through uber eats and got sautéd beef with wild peppers which came to be very soggy and soupy. In addition, this was the portion i got for $23.99. Overall paid $33.00, waste of money!!

The dining environment is very dirty. I even found a piece of hair in my noodles. The bathroom is dirty, the kitchen looks dirty, overall experience is very bad.

Bad experience.Let me share my experience: I ordered from Uber eats many times from this restaurant since I do not have a car. Once they forgot the rice and refused to send me the rice. So I have to eat the dish only which is of course not enough. The same thing happened with the northeast restaurant, and they are so nice to apologize and send me the rice only. And the food in northeastern is better. I never expected that. I swear I am just a student here.

Had high hopes for this one, but disappointed. Eggplant tasted good but drowning in cornstarchy sauce. yam with fungus intriguing, and pretty good. will give it another try, because they were nice, and speedy.

We went to this place twice on the same weekend, definitely worth a visit. Boiled Fish is really good, and other classic sichuan dishes are delicious. The second time we went, we decided to order some different dishes (not strictly sichuan ones). Cabbage with vermicelli has quite a lot of vinegar, which I love, but may not be everyone's favorite if you are not into sour food. Chongqing Spicy Chicken and eggplant stuffed with meat are to avoid. My advice is to stick with the classic sichuan dishes you see elsewhere. They excel in those.

Cooler not working so warm sodas. Meal was pretty good. Cucumber Salad was great flavor.

Spiciest food you can get in Albany. This will light you up! Ha Love the 5 spice Beef and the Thai chili dumplings. Get the cucumbers to cool off the volcano in your mouth.

Food is so bland and tasteless. I wouldn't call this Sichuan style food, more like over priced Chinese take outs. Do not come here if you are looking for authentic Chinese cuisine, this is not it.
