Mystic Momo Reviews
My first experience with Nepalese cuisine. I ordered three styles of momo, which is a type of stuffed pasta dumpling. More similar to a semolina dough,, not thick and glutinous like rice dough. Mystic Momo is a small Nepalese restaurant located on a busy street in Albany, New York. Specializing in momos, they offer a variety of dumplings filled with chicken, pork, beef, chives, mushroom, or paneer, which can be served steamed, fried, or pan-fried. Their menu also includes the delicious Jhol soup and Bhaktapurian curd. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with six tables and friendly family-run service. Customers can enjoy a unique culinary journey through authentic Nepalese dishes, including different types of momos and stir-fried Chowmein noodles. The reviews highlight that Mystic Momo is the only Nepali restaurant in the Albany Capital region, offering great Nepali food at a reasonable price. Many describe it as a charming, mom-and-pop spot that tastes just like grandma's cooking. The C momo with chives is spicy and flavorful, but some find the skin a bit thicker than preferred. The fried momo with pork and the Jhol momo with chicken are also popular. While the ambiance is more suited for takeout, visitors can find parking along surrounding streets or near Washington Park. Overall, Mystic Momo is a must-visit place for those wanting to explore Nepalese cuisine in Albany.
