Very welcoming as soon as me and my family walked in. Such amazing people and AMAZING FOOD! Great soft lighting instead of burning my eyes balls out of my head, nice open seating so your not sitting on top of anyone. Food came out super quick and hot! Made me feel like I was a child again. We come to albany a few times per month for our Nevaeh Quarantillo who is in Saint Margrets Medical Center and this will definitely be a place we always stop at while we are here to see our little girl!

Very good and flavorful. Didn’t even need to add salt or pepper.

I waited until I tried a few things on their menu before doing my review because I wanted it to be as honest as possible… this restaurant has a solid menu with a variety of tasty options and they are all satisfying! I’ve only ordered delivery but each time my food arrives fresh hot and well packaged.. nothing is over seasoned just simple southern comfort food… do yourself a BIG favor and try the banana pudding I PROMISE there’s none like it in the REGION! I will definitely be ordering again and again and again and I’ll be making a visit real soon!

I don't think you will find better soul food in the capital region. The staff was friendly, the food was excellent and surprisingly cheap. Suga Foot's is a true hidden gem in Albany.

An 8 piece fried shrimp meal for 40 dollars is just crazy to me the collard greens were terrible as well as the mac . But overall no meal with a meat and 2 sides should ever cost that much especially that shrimp that was fried on fish batter !

I had the pleasure of meeting Charles, the owner, and from the moment I walked through the door, I felt genuinely welcomed. The staff was warm and inviting, and the food exceeded all expectations. From the creamy mac and cheese to the tender, gravy-covered turkey, and perfectly seasoned beans and collard greens, every bite was a taste of home.

But the true standout? The wings. They were so incredible, I called my sister after just one bite and told her she had to try them. Dining at Suga Foot’s felt like enjoying a Sunday dinner at my grandmother’s table—comforting, flavorful, and made with love.

If you're looking for authentic soul food served with heart, Suga Foot’s is a must-visit.

Absolutely amazing soul food!! I was exploring Albany today and I'm so glad I stopped in. It was my first time trying oxtail, and it was delicious!!! I also tried their strawberry hibiscus tea, it was perfectly sweet! It took some time to get our food, but I didn't mind waiting at small businesses!

My husband and I decided to stop after a family event and we were not disappointed. The entire experience reminded me of the days of old. That Southern hospitality just overcomes your spirit. The food was absolutely delicious. We dined on smothered chicken over mashed potatoes, yams, collard greens, mac & cheese, fried whiting's with a side of cornbread. The homemade drinks were a nice treat strawberry hibiscus and peach tea. It's really nice seeing a family working together. Keep doing what y'all are doing because it's wonderful.

I pulled up close to 5pm and was back in my car by 5:15, quick service.

I tried the whiting catfish sandwich, a bottle of soda, the 3-piece whole wing dinner with mac & cheese and greens, plus the last banana pudding they had left.

Let me tell you!!!! that mac & cheese was EVERYTHING. Creamy, cheesy, just how I like it.
The greens? They had a little kick to 'em, but the perfect kind of spice.

The wings were fresh, crispy, and hot, could’ve used a little more seasoning, but still solid.
The fish tasted fresh too, just slightly overcooked, but nothing too serious.

Now, the banana pudding… I could tell it was a few days old. It had a cinnamon taste, which threw me off, so I didn’t eat much wasn’t sure if it was still good.

Overall though? I wasn’t disappointed at all if anything, it almost felt like I was back home in Texas!

Don’t pass this place up. Seriously.
