Feels like a bit of a dive bar but bartender was fantastic and food delicious. Worth it!
Our first time in NY. The food, service & atmosphere were wonderful. Our server was Kendra she was knowledgeable of the menu & very friendly. We had the pizza, Philly cheesesteak & corned beef Reuben sandwich. All was vey good and reasonable priced.
Many thanks to Kendra for making these Texans feel welcome! We would definitely recommend going to eat & having a drink here.

Hill Street Cafe offers a great menu with excellent food and service. Despite a slightly dark atmosphere, the staff is amazing and friendly, creating a welcoming environment in downtown Albany. Known for the best pizza in town, it attracts both blue and white-collar workers. The three waitresses are exceptional, ensuring customers enjoy their food and drinks. Many visitors appreciate the great pizza, salads, and wings, especially the Chipotle Lime BBQ sauce on the wings and the roast beef melt, which has impressed many. The service is outstanding, even when busy, with servers hustling to provide good drinks and an excellent selection of beers. The cafe feels like a local hangout and is a perfect spot for casual dining with delicious meals. Regulars and newcomers alike have enjoyed their visits over the years, making it a favorite spot for both quick bites and relaxed gatherings.
