Brooklyn Fish - Chicken & Soul Food

Sides are good, mac and cheese, candied yams, collard greens etc. I got whiting, taste was good, the size not so much. I've gotten bigger pieces from other places.

The food is delicious, this is that hole in the wall place you go to and know that you won't be disappointed by the flavour of the food. It hits ? every time.

The food at this establishment is very good however the customer service is trash.
This was my second time at this establishment. Three days ago at 835pm I came in and ordered mac and cheese. I ordered the large but asked the staff to take off 1 scoop because I didn't want to waste food. The staff dropped the price for me. Unfortunately, that didn't happen today. The staff today told me that I didn't get that type of deal there. She was so intent on making her point she thought I said that I paid 8.35 3 days ago.
I instantly realized 2 things. 1 The employee who served me 3 days ago was being nice. So today I paid 16 plus for mac and cheese and left a tip.
I believe in tipping especially if the food is good.
Before I left I told that staff member today that the price wasn't the issue, I didn't want to purchase a large and not eat it all.
Wasting food is unacceptable to me.
I also told her that the food is really good and it's unfortunate that I won't be back.
The second thing I realized is this staff member today has always been rude and me pointing out the employee that helped me 3 days wouldn't change that type of behavior. It might have gotten that staff member who helped me 3 days ago in trouble.
I definitely didn't want that to happen.
Good customer service is just as important as good food. They go hand in hand.

The “BROOKLYN” in the name is totally deceptive. Absolutely NO “SOUL” in the fried fish sandwich that I picked up. The customer service, food and atmosphere did nothing to earn a return. I ordered a fried fish sandwich. There was little to no seasoning with some awful crust. You will need more than Tatar and/or hot sauce to distract you from this fried disaster. I truly hope they aren’t paying for positive reviews. Those customers must be local??

If you're having problems sleeping get an order of ANYTHING from here. The "-itis" will kick in shortly after finishing your meal.LOVED the carrot cake.

Food used to be really good and then they started to fall off. How you have a soul food place with barely any black people cooking or behind the counter. Then as of the last 2 times I’ve ordered, I found hair im my food and dirty containers. Sure they gave me my money back, but I t’s genuinely saddening to not be able to go there anymore.

Just OK. No gravy for mashed potatoes, wonder bread for the fish sandwich. Seafood “platter” had 2 scallops and 4 shrimp with decent size fish over a sea of cold rubbery fries. They seem to be good at fish and chicken only. When I asked if they had a roll for the fish sandwich like the giant sign shows instead of 2 pieces of store bought white bread they just said “ no, it usually comes with corn bread, but we’re out”. Worst takeout experience in quite a while.
