I stop in just to get a drink at a gas station, and there it was some of the best-looking food I have ever seen at a gas station. I looked left and right up and down the menu; I got the jerked Chicken Mac & Cheese and Collard greens. WOW the food was great some of the best Jerked chicken I have had, the mac & cheese was to die for and the greens where fresh and the flavor was outstanding. i may have to make the hour trip back to get some more. This is a must stop by place, Take it from a Fat Guy.

I only got the sides from here for my dinner at home. Got the Mac and cheese, sweet potato and corn bread. All delicious!! It's in a gas station store and it's a bit dirty environment but the guy at the register was super busy. Hopefully I come back for the ribs or bbq chicken.

I purchased a chicken wing dinner. I wanted potato salad but there was none. I ordered the mac n cheese instead along with the collard greens. Looking at the mac n cheese, I wasn't impressed. What a wonderful surprise for me. The chicken wings were a nice size and seasoned well. The collards had peppers in them which immediately turned me off. When I tasted them, I quickly changed my tune; they were good too. The chicken was made when we ordered it ... worth the wait.

It's located inside of a gas station. The area was clean!

The real question you want to know is, would I go back? ABSOLUTELY!

Although the food is good, the customer service is HORRIBLE! Whoever they have taking orders is very rude and dismissive. I will not be ordering from here again.

We ordered the jerk chicken over rice with collard greens, and the fried chicken with collard greens and mac & cheese—and every single plate hit. The jerk chicken was packed with flavor, seasoned perfectly, and had just the right amount of kick. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and cooked exactly how good soul food should be. The collard greens were soulful and flavorful, and the mac & cheese was rich, cheesy, and comforting.

The atmosphere was great too. And honestly? I don’t care that it’s located in a gas station—if anything, that just made the food taste even better. Sometimes the best food comes from the most unexpected places.

This spot was absolutely worth the drive to Amityville from Queens. When Winnie’s comes to Brooklyn, I’m in there like swimwear.

I’ve been ordering from Winnie’s Soul Food for years, so I was really disappointed when they closed, but so happy when they reopened. The food has always been consistently great, which made them an easy choice when I needed catering for my special event.

From start to finish, the experience was seamless. Winnie was professional, responsive, and made sure every detail of my order was confirmed. When my event had to be postponed due to a snowstorm, she was incredibly understanding and accommodating, which I truly appreciated.

On the day of my event, everything was ready on time and exactly as expected. The food was absolutely delicious, my guests couldn’t stop talking about it, and there was nothing left by the end of the night lol.

Even though they’re currently located inside a gas station, don’t let that discourage you, give them a chance. I’ve been following them for a while, and unfortunately their planned new location fell through due to vandalism. I’m wishing them the best in finding a new home, but in the meantime, please continue to support them.

Winnie’s is now my go to for catering, and I’ll be recommending them to everyone. You won’t regret it!

I had their ribs with 2 sides. Collards greens and Mac & cheese. The collards were a bit too sweet for me. The Mac & Cheese was good. Nothing to rave about but good. The ribs although nice and tender were tasteless. The star of the show was their sweet potato cornbread. Sweet & tasty. Almost like cake. My friend had fried chicken wings, Mac & cheese, and candied yams. It’s hard to mess up candied yams. The fried wings? Tasteless. It’s like a fast food place but not that fast. The young man serving us seemed a bit bothered by my presence. I asked a lot of questions. I wanted to know about Winnie’s. He was not pleased. I asked if he was the chef. He responded “I’m the one cooking so yeah, that’s correct.” It was more the tone than the actual words. I ordered anyway.
I’ll give it another shot someday. I think perhaps it was just not a good day for them. I’ve heard good things so I’m sure something was off. I’ll go back in a few months.
