I called 4 times and got no answer so I went there to place a order to go , the lady completely ignored me standing at the register I waited 10mins b4 she finally asked me what I wanted , I told her a order to go and placed my order she didn't even write it down then turned her back to me shacking her head and it wasn't even a big order just 2 omelets. She was very rude I will never go there again

The girl there is really rude, her customer service was bad, I usually visit this place once or twice a month, star is usually there and she is very professional but today was not good. I am a person who gives tips but the way I was treated today on 5/14/2024 was unacceptable. She charged me extra money for a container to put my food in it. I can’t wait to see star to speak to her about this situation

Star’s Cafe is the quintessential hometown place where locals gather and warm hearted joking abounds. The food is classic diner menu, all perfectly prepared and arriving hot with generous portions. The surprise menu item is the homemade soups and they are phenomenal!!!! Tomato and spinach with tortellini was outstanding and paired well with the three cheese grilled cheese. It is surprising that they can serve the quality and quantity of food for incredibly reasonable prices. It is an easy on/off the NY Thruway and well worth the stop. This hidden gem of upstate NY is not to be missed.

Absolutely terrible service. Waited 20 minutes for the waitress to come over and be so rude, write none of the orders down while she rolls eyes and gives attitude over asking what’s on the turkey club and making sure the breakfast sandwich had egg’s on it. Decided the attitude wasn’t worth the time and tip I would feel obligated to give. Will never return and no idea how they have such high reviews which was the only reason we drove 30 minutes out for it.

My husband and are friends had lunch here and the food was amazing and you can’t beat their prices.Their was a very nasty customer who came in with a horrible attitude and was so rude to the lady who was cooking we all felt so bad. People should have more respect for the people who serve you as you don’t understand the kind of pressure they are under!! But on another note we absolutely loved the place the people and food and will definitely be going back again when we are in the area!!

I was pretty excited to find a place that is only 15 minutes from home that had good reviews. Went today with my adult children and grandson. We were treated by a very friendly guy who let us know to get your own drinks and that she was busy and would be to us when she could. We had no problem waiting as we were talking and enjoying a beautiful day. When the waitress came over to ask if we were ready to order, I proceeded to order 2 eggs over easy and French toast. The waitress response was 3? I said 2, she then said 2 eggs, I said yes. She said 2 French toast and I said yes. She rolled her eyes and then it was my daughter’s turn to order. My daughter asked what comes on their turkey club (the menu does not have any details) and her response is stuff that comes on a turkey club. And again rolled her eyes… as my son went to order and asked for a bacon egg and cheese with egg, she proceeded to make fun of him because he said egg twice.Honestly I have never met a waitress with a bigger attitude problem. We left. I cannot comment on the food.

Listen it's simple don't go here if fancy is your thing period ....Old school cool for me and my son in our opinionGreezsy spoon type place with an awesome breakfast at super cheap prices.... Sure service is slow but who cares as there is plenty to look at hanging on the walls and local people are great regular nice folk if you actually take the time to smile and simply say Hello . Me and my son got looks the second we walked in but it's small town upstate NY and we weren't from around there so what's the big deal ? Grow up it happens !!!The waitress is also the cook and there was only one other person working so maybe that's why it's super reasonable and easy on your wallet ...gotta give a little to get a little thats it ! Yep may be a bit slower then some may like but who cares ...it's not IHOP where they rob you for everything and costs you $60 bucks for breakfast for 2Sit back enjoy the food and the experience, and stop complaining about the obvious stuff anyone knows going into a type of place this clearly is even from the outside ...and that's not a bad thing !You won't get super clean , you may wait a little longer then your spoiled complaining type of person you are so shut your trap and be happy for once you actually found a place where the person who took your order and didn't even write it down gets your food ? and order correct !!Then when your done like the amazing older local woman sitting at the counter who set the right example for me and my boy ,get up pack your plates neatly and be nice enough to walk them back to the kitchen and put em in the sink like i then did too....Enjoy the different experience you were lucky to have and stop complaining !!!You went to eat off a highway not be pampered as if your a King or Queen and fyi you ever think maybe they picked up on YOUR ATTITUDE, which is maybe why you have got a slight one back ?Amazing food ,nothing but nice people and simply a different experience then you may be used too...and in closing THANK YOU for this little roadside GEM !!!

Great place,the food is good and very cheap. It cost me $5.95 for 3 scrambled eggs,toast and bacon. I have no idea what Amanda Soto means by there is no sign saying "Cash Only". Are you blind? There are 2 signs saying that. Literally when you are walking in on the outer door and inner door in giant letters it says: "We Accept CASH ONLY Thank You". I was reading it upside down over at my table earlier. I don't know how you miss it. Signs don't do any good if you can't read.
