What happened, Djerdan?! One star for nostalgia and how awesome your burek used to be! The slice used to have the perfect ratio of filling and the dough was homemade and crispy on the outside. Now, you serve factory made dry pieces of cardboard. I can easily bake frozen pies at home. You used to stand apart from all the cheap filo dough cheese pies at random coffee houses in Astoria and beyond but no more when it comes to burek.

I bought burek and yoghurt today and it was good, but tulumbe was horrible, the juice in tulumbe was made with 0 knowledge about that or recklessly, anyhow, I ate burek twice, yoghurt is authentic and reaaally good. Eat burek and avoid tulumbe

The place is really cute, but the service is terrible… the food is even worse. The meat burek had barely any meat, it was dry, and nothing like a proper burek. I think they really need to work much more on the food and stop being so stingy

I am a long customer, today's minced meat pie was very bad, I told this to the staff but they did not care.

I wanted to like this place more! The burek just didn’t have enough cheese or inner layers for me. Felt a bit frozen-baked rather than freshly made. $7 for a big pie though

poor hygiene. it looks like place hasn’t been cleaned for years. food and grime all over the floors. i bought a spinach burek which i am very familiar with. it was clearly a refrigerated old spinach burek, who knows how many days old. this is a pastry there is no excuse why they should not be be making and baking these fresh daily. the pastry was doughy oily, it was not even flaky, the inside was yellow and tasted off. after my first bite it made my stomach turn. i threw it out and even the small amount i ate made me unwell a half an hour later. this was disgusting to say the least and i will not be returning.

The old lady behind the counter is very rude she has no sense of customer service. When I asked when the Burke will be ready, she took out of the tray and served uncooked pie. I tried and told her it is not cooked yet. She does not talk or answer. With a long face she shovels the pie back to the oven. 5 minutes later she serves and again no apology or any gesture. I try a bite and Again the pie is not cooked. I gave up and left with the pie. I will cook at home and see if it still tastes like a dough.

Racists to Asians. Took three white customers that came after me, I waited for 10 mins until two customers got their order, I said can I have a yogurt, no one cared, a white guy with no accent came after me, ordered yogurt, and got his yogur while I was still standing there.

easy location, reasonable prices, excellent taste. As a Turk who grew up in the Balkan neighborhood, I ordered the Balkan borek that I missed, it was great and above my expectations. Also, it was interesting that the best Turkish coffee I had in New York was here. Thank you.
