La Rioja is a wonderful little Spanish spot in Astoria. I have gone there about three times now, and each experience was truly wonderful. My boyfriend (who is from Spain himself), told me about this restaurant, and it is also one of his favorites as well! They have many authentic dishes and drinks, native to Spain. When I've gone, I've started off my order with a pitcher of Red Sangria, filled with various fruits. In all honesty, this stuff is strong and it's absolutely delicious....read full review
Very good Spanish food with an ample variety of the menu, pleasant native music, great tasting house wines and attentive service.Only con I found is that tables are not set up within the recommended social distance. I recommend this restaurant.

The only reason its not 5 stars is because the seafood paella although very well cooked and packed with meat it was lacking some flavor. Also the chocolate for the churros was watery and not thick at all. Other than that everything was AMAZING. The Tabla of cheese/meats is very filling and delicious especially if you make little sandwiches with the complimentary bread. Croquettes were perfect! and the sangria some of the best i have had. I will definitely be coming back.
