The coffee is a bit pricey for the portion, but it was delicious and the staff was kind. A cozy little space for a date or catch up session, I think!
Its very tiny seating area.
Its good if you just want to sit alone (or 2) to do some computer work or reading.

The first coffee I got there a couple weeks ago was excellent. It was super strong and it tasted fantastic. But the coffee that I got today was probably the worst I’ve had. I could tell that the cream was a little bit aged by the taste of it. And the coffee itself tasted like a burnt cigarette. Don’t know if I’ll be back.

Don't go here. The owners treat their employees terribly.
Bad vibes. Witnessed a manager demean their employee in front of me for something inexplicably stupid. Avoid.

Trash coffee
I discovered this lovely cafe two years ago. Kiialeah and Carlos were the baristas, and their friendly demeanor, kindness, and ability to juggle multiple orders accurately from many customers were so impressive that I returned many times. Since I work from home, it's important to have social contact (as well as chai and pastries) and Kiialeah was truly gifted in engaging customers. She turned that tiny space into a home where strangers chatted and moods were instantly uplifted. I was away for part of the summer and when I returned and did not see her after several visits, I inquired and was shocked to learn that she was let go due to a rude, entitled customer. Even more shocking was the fact that the manager overlooked her exceptional service and the testimony of other customers on her behalf. The current baristas are excellent, but it's just not the same.

I’m obsessed with this strawberry matcha it’s my absolute favorite in all of Astoria! I’ve been coming every morning just for it, and it always makes me so happy. The staff are truly special and kind; Carlos and Nana are so professional and helpful. Without a doubt, this is my favorite coffee shop in Astoria!

Restaurantji Recommends
Moa Coffee Shop has quickly become one of my favorite spots in town. The quality of both the coffee and the baked goods is consistently top notch—everything is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Whether you’re grabbing a morning espresso or sitting down with a pastry, it never disappoints.
What makes this place even more special is the story behind it. After visiting a few times, I got to know the owners and learned that they are minorities building something amazing for themselves and their community—truly living the American dream. In today’s world, it’s inspiring to see small, independent businesses like this thriving. Their passion and hard work are evident in every detail of the shop.
Highly recommend supporting this gem—you’ll come for the coffee, but you’ll keep coming back for the heart behind it.

Loooove the staff!! Unfortunately management has no loyalty to their employees. They let go one of their best managers for a rude customer who yelled and disrespected her. This owner doesn't deserve good employees or customers. We will not be going back until this is rectified.
