This is a great option for any day of the week. Wonderful food, seasonal ingredients, delicious sauces, everything cooked well, great selection of cocktails and the nicest staff always. Great atmosphere, with potted palm trees outside next to the picnic tables that make you feel like you're on vacation (its also good for large groups without a reservation)
Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options that aren't salad or vegi burgers
Parking: Lots of turnover on Ditmars and side streets for parking
Dietary restrictions: They are very sensitive to dietary restrictions, my friend has a shellfish allergy, they all at the beginning of every order.
Unfortunately, I must express my disappointment with the quality of the food I ordered. The pasta was dry and lacked flavor, and the Mac and Cheese bites suffered from the same issues. As a result, I was unable to enjoy any of the dishes I had ordered. In addition to the food concerns, I was surprised to find a random pen inside my bag instead of the expected utensils and napkins. This oversight was unexpected and further added to my disappointment.I believe that providing this feedback is essential to help businesses improve and maintain high standards. I hope that you will take this feedback into consideration and address these concerns to ensure a better dining experience for future customers.
The Mac and cheese bites were really good. Very good size. Nice and crispy on the outside and really cheesy on the inside. My lemonade drink was also super refreshing and the staff was really welcoming and friendly. My server Stephanie was great and the manager Kasper checked on us and made sure we were enjoying the food and the atmosphere. Will be back next week again
My favorite Italian restaurant in Astoria! Delicious food and cocktails. The tropical outdoor seating is a fun experience. The service is excellent - Kasper is super warm and accommodating. Try their new Watermelon Salad and Burrata Salad, and of course their famous Vodka Veal Parm for 2. I highly recommend Ninos AQ!
I came to this place for dinner I absolutely love the look of the place but however the customer service could be improved and same thing for the food I would recommend this place.
Surprisingly, the food was SPECTACULAR...I had steak and eggs, which was amazing just right and the steak was smoked with something and juicy. Medium just like I like it.The side consisting of eggs and potatoes were amazingly good too.Other people from my party ordered avocado toast and Margherita pizza and all was great.Highly recommend ??☝️
I had an amazing experience at Nino's AQ. From the outside eating area to the nice decor of the inside, I could already tell that I was in for a good time. I was greeted by Kasper, the manager who was very polite and formal. I got there quite early as dinner just seemed to have started. I noticed at this time that one of the staff members who I believe was called Marianna was setting up. She played some really good music, which really helped set a good vibe for my experience. Kasper informed me of their weekend special, which consisted of two Oyster's [East and West Coast]. I tried both, and they were both very delicious. The west coast had amazing flavor despite having a slimy texture. The East Coast was delicious as well but did not compare to West Coast. After trying these oysters, I ordered the Meatballs and the Charred Octopus. Since I sat at the bar, I was tended to by Muhammad the Bartender. Muhammad was very kind and able to answer my questions regarding the bread and olive oil spread served when you dine here. I was recommended by him a drink called "Frozen Aperol Spritz," which was a delicious drink topped off with a nice garnish. My food arrived promptly and I was very satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food. The meatballs were tender and delicious. The sauce was very good and not too overpowering on the delicious flavor of the meatballs. The meatballs came topped off with a delicious cheese, which I do not know the name of. However, this cheese complimented the fish very well. The octopus ? was delicious. I noticed a light sauce below the octopus, which tasted amazing. The octopus was cooked to perfection and had a delicious texture and was easy to eat. Still hungry, I asked Kasper for a recommendation for a pizza since there were so many different combinations. He recommended the "Pepperoni Hot Honey Pizza." which he informed me sells very well here at Nino's. What an amazing choice because it was really hard for me to choose. I ate almost the entire pie before asking for a to-go box for my pizza. Not wanting to end there, I decided on a dessert, which was the "Lemon Ricotta Cake." That cake was a banger. The perfect ending to my time here at Nino's. I sit here now thinking of the next time that I will be going to Nino's, which isn't that far off in the future. I am very thankful for the kind staff at Nino's for everything that went on during my experience. Thank you. ❤️
Had a terrific dinner & drinks with a friend here last night, and this place is a gem. Delicious apps and amazing pasta & steak, and the portion sizes are incredible. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were super friendly, even when they turned us over to someone new. Casper closed us out and was kind enough to pour us a digestif after our meal. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Astoria.
Nice neighborhood restaurant that gave me a little touch of Italy. Food was delicious. Was skeptical about the spicy watermelon marg but it was amazing! Our waitress was so sweet and accommodating. Only annoying thing was our seats was by the plates/cutlery station. Couldn't really have a conversation without all the banging. Also must comment about how nice the decor was. Plates and even the bathroom were so cute. Will return. Even all the way from the Bronx.
We had an amazing experience in this place! I wanted something from the dinner menu when it was lunch, and after telling me they can’t make it - the waitress spoke to the manager and he told the kitchen to make this dish anyway. It was a really pleasant surprise and I appreciated it a lot.The food was fantastic, the vibe overall was great and the staff was pleasant.I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Went to Nino for dinner. When arrived everything started out great with our waitress. I placed an order as appetizer for the charred octopus and potatoes. The potatoes were great just needed some salt and pepper, but octopus was very tough and I returned and stated I didn’t want it. By that time the whole experience at restaurant went down hill. A lot of other guest started arriving at restaurant. Other guest that came after us I had already got their appetizers and food and was getting their check to leave. We still have not received our entrees. No staff came by to let us know that the kitchen was backup. After waiting 45 mins for our entree I finally asked the waitress where is food. She states kitchen was backup and food would be out shortly. By this time we didn’t even want the food anymore we started looking for other restaurants to have dinner and just pay for the drinks that we had. We got food it was ok. We were only African Americans in this establishment I believe there was some subliminal racism towards us once I returned the appetizer. I would not go back.
We ordered a ricotta dip with crostinni for appetizers, and it was not good. The dip was super cold. The pizza and pasta we ordered for entrees was mediocre, nothing great. This place is definitely not a 4.3 rating as depicted.
The food is pretty regular, nothing all that special. I ordered their lobster pasta special and it came only with 5 pieces! Was surprised at the end of the night that the waitress came back to our table because we didn’t leave a higher tip.
Always a guaranteed good time here. Owner is super friendly and care about your experience! Food is delicious and great vibe inside and outside
My second time dining here.We ordered the chicken parm and ribeye for two. Didnot like the chicken parm as it was too saucy and bland in taste and wasnt cooked through however the ribeye with fingerling potatoes and brussel was really good but quite on the pricier side ($105) . The drinks were quite limited gave watermelon margarita a try but it tasted very watered down. Might give it one more try in future because the vibe and service was decent.
