Went for a BD celebration. Overall impression-passable, but not good enough. Grilled octopus-on a rubbery side, overdone. Salad-just one marinated pepper and 2 olives. C'omon. Took 45 min to wait for the grilled meat after we finished appetizers. "We are lil backed up..." Waiters and busboys-chaotic undirected movement. No napkins on the table. As if they were waiting for a bus and didnt know what task to handle. And if they notice u-u in luck. Far cry from Telly's...

Overall, the portions you get for the high ticket prices are not worth it. For the portion size you get, the entrées should definitely be under $20 (not $26)

I did enjoy the moussaka and the eggplant was very tender, but again the portion was extremely small. The spanakopita was average and unfortunately had bits of cold spinach in it, which leads me to believe that it was previously frozen and not “made to order” as stated in their menu.

Telly Taverna has the finest Greek food in Astoria. I have ordered from them many times and they all have been great!! I highly recommend this restaurant and hope that residents of Astoria and outside the community will give it a try and help support our local businesses !!
