We went to the Aurora Inn for a birthday breakfast. The Inn itself is full of historyand has such a nice, inviting restaurant with a great view of the lake. We ordered a mimosa and then perused the menu. It was hard to decide what to order. I ordered the creme brulee french toast and my husband ordered the classic breakfast. The food was wonderfully presented and everything tasted delicious! Our server Reilly was very welcoming and answered all of our questions about the menu...
Entrees took too long. Pumpkin soup was very bland. No salt or pepper on the table. Entrees had good flavor but the quantity provided for the short spare rib dish was very small. We appreciated the complimentary gluten free bread, though we did not like the jelly dipping sauce for the bread. Overall, it was 3 stars.
Beautiful spot with some fascinating history. The restaurant has a cozy, upscale feel. The cobwebs on the lamps seemed out of place (no, they were not fall decorations). The staff practically jogging from table to table and to the kitchen made it hard to relax. The veal dish was like chewing rubber and had no seasoning. That would be fine but there is no salt or pepper on the table since we have to have faith the kitchen prepared it perfectly to our taste. The pasta dish was good...
