How about people behind the counter be more alert of what the customer is asking. Instead of being rude.
Buyer beware!!! I went to Dunkin Donuts in Bay Shore and bought a gift card. They charged tax. Now when it is redeemed the person is going to be taxed again. Normally I would not have noticed but it was the only thing I bought. I questioned and was told that's the way it is. Gift cards are tax free. How many people have they double taxed!!!
