Takumi Sushi Hibachi & Lounge

I mistakenly left a negative review last night after confusing this restaurant with another establishment where I had a genuinely terrible experience. After realizing my mistake, I wanted to formally retract my previous comments and set the record straight.

We celebrated m mother’s 69th birthday here a couple of yrs ago, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. The food, service, and hospitality made it a truly memorable occasion, and my mother still talks about it to this day.

To the owners and management, I sincerely apologize for the mix mup. Your restaurant deserves recognition for the exceptional experience you provided, and I regret my error. Thank you for helping create such a cherished memory for our fam. ❤

The food at Takumi is consistently pretty good, and we’ve ordered from here many times. Unfortunately, there’s one recurring issue that’s becoming hard to ignore. The delivery driver who frequently brings our orders smells very strongly of cigarette smoke. The smell is so overpowering that the insulated delivery bag reeks of smoke, and the odor transfers to our food bags when we receive them. It’s honestly pretty unpleasant and takes away from an otherwise enjoyable meal.
I hope management addresses this because the food itself has always been good, and we’d like to continue ordering.

Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with their at home hibachi. I was told a deposit needed to be made in advance of $100, then the rest needed to be paid cash at the time of the event. Received no receipt of cash payment at the time of the party, was told I owed the full amount which I paid plus 20% for tip, only to receive an invoice showing that I paid $100 less then I did as my deposit was never accounted for. Now I’m being told the chef is saying I paid less than I did.

EDIT: Adding full context since this restaurant seems to be relaying false information in their reply. Yes the guest count was amended, which was asked about the day prior to the event per the agreement. When the chef arrived he told me the balance was $1080, which included a 20% tip. I paid the balance not even realizing that the deposit I had made was not applied to the final balance. I contacted Takumi for a final invoice to confirm, at which point they told me the check said I only paid $980, which was not the case at all. I find it absolutely absurd that for a service like this they take the word of their chef, who was tipped beyond appropriate at this point as now his tip was $280, plus the added bonus people at the party gave him. I’m completely disgusted with this experience, if you’re looking for hibachi at home I would recommend someplace where they trust the customer and the chefs are not pocketing money under the table.

Great food and environment

I have made the 1.5 hour drive to come here. This is by far the BEST hibachi ever. The food is fresh and even ordering take out is beautifully served. Great place for celebration, date night, or regular dinner. They always give me sooooo much saki so you’ll have a great time!!!

Takumi Sushi Hibachi & Lounge never disappoints! The sushi is always fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. A special shoutout to Mike behind the bar—he’s friendly, attentive, and makes every visit even more enjoyable. Great food, great drinks, and great service. Highly recommend!

Sushi is always super fresh and hibachi delicious & fun. My favorite is Happy hour with Mike who is an awesome bartender. He keeps the drinks flowing and is on the spot with the service. Love coming here.

Just ordered a delivery order and waited over 50 minutes for the driver to get here and get upset that there was no tip. He continued to suck his teeth and curse me out in front of our business establishment. Tipping is not required, although complimentary, especially when you do not know everyone’s financial situations. Very disrespectful behavior, don’t know how this is allowed. Either pay your employees what they’re owed or hire better people, there should be no reason for a person to act that way over not getting a tip.

I wanted to leave a review because while the food was absolutely amazing and the service was exceptional, what stood out most was the professionalism of the staff in a difficult situation.
During our meal, the group seated behind us was incredibly rude and disrespectful to the servers. As someone who overheard the entire interaction, I can confidently say the staff did absolutely nothing wrong. They were polite, patient, accommodating, and treated those customers with respect the entire time, despite receiving attitude and entitlement in return. It’s unfortunate that people in customer service are sometimes treated this way when they’re simply doing their jobs. The servers and staff handled the situation with grace and professionalism from start to finish, and they deserve recognition for that.
Beyond that, the food was fantastic, the atmosphere was great, and the service we received was outstanding. I hope the staff knows that not everyone felt the way those customers did. From what I witnessed, they handled themselves perfectly and should be proud of the way they managed such an unfair situation.
We will definitely be back.

This place is excellent We went early in the day so we had the hibachi table all to ourselves, excellent food great staff everybody was very nice The chef was amazing and very entertaining and he even made a balloon animal for my wife after serving us the food This is a place you must see and you must go
