“WOW! This was my first time at Village Greens and it was amazing. I got to meet one of the owners Brian who was very welcoming & gets to know his customers on a first name bases. The food at Village Greens was FRESH. I honestly could taste the freshness of the ingredients. I got the Buffalo cauli-power bowl with mozzarella balls instead of blue cheese. INCREDIBLE. I also got the Mediterranean falafel bowl which was HUGE and so delicious! I love how any bowl can be put into a wrap, I got the cojita corn bowl in a wrap, so creamy and tasty! They’re the best in Queens & Brooklyn combined- but I’m trying to order via a delivery app and there’s no way for me to surpass the option of how toasted I want the bagels, and I don’t want them toasted period. I can’t write a note in saying I don’t want them toasted either, so I won’t be ordering via the app. I would just come get them but I’m home with Covid so I can’t. This seems to have changed, I met Luis the manager and things seem like they are running well! This place IS A HIDDEN GEM. Not only the food is delicious, everyone here was super friendly!

I ordered Turkey melt, TUNA MELT (!!!), Chicken Caesar wrap, Roast Beef wrap, grilled cheese, and Scrambled eggs for a small bday party. Everyone loved the food and many asked me where I ordered from.

Especially the Tuna melt. Which I ordered because Susan recommended it herself!
They also have amazing cookies!

Susan's Kitchen is located in an office building, made it a little hard to find, in my opinion. My husband and I were confused whether or not we were allowed to park in the parking lot of the building.

“GrillMak has been a favorite spot of mine for probably almost 10 years now. My go-to's are their sticks - Filet Mignon, my favorite, but their chicken and pork sticks are delicious as well. Occasionally, I will go with the filet mignon gyro when needing a more complete meal. Their sweet potato French fries are a nice side to any meal. There is plenty of dining seating indoors and some outdoors during the summer. You will find plenty of parking here as well.

“This deli has been around for over 40 years, maybe even 50. There were 3 sisters who each had a deli on Queens , and their German recipes lived on after they retired. (Though I admit one of the sisters Helga, of Expressway Deli off Bell Blvd and Horace Harding, but they have been gone 15 years now. Her potato salad would travel to visit family and friends 250 or more miles packed in Ice. )“

After visiting this location for a few more times, I can give a more accurate review. Initial review was during the first week this place opened up.

The burger is not bad, has all the classics ingredients for a regular burger but for me too little meat. For a better meaty burger I recommend getting two patties. The single patty burgers leaves me feeling unsatisfied.

The fries from the last few times I orders has been bad. They are shoestring cut fries and it seems like they fry a bunch ahead of time and keep them to the side until needed. Some of them are hard as a pretzel and others limp.

Unfortunately the wings seem like they suffer the same fate, but with less flavor. It’s not common to get un-breaded halal wings in the Bronx (most of them are the tiny breaded ones from your local halal deli), but they are missing some marinade or something to bring it alive, besides drenching it with sauce.

The crispy chicken sandwich was very oily, and definitely double fried. Which means it was half fried before and left to the side until a customer orders one and they re-fry them. This makes the chicken rubbery and the breading dark brown and oily. I rather wait a few more minutes for a made to order chicken sandwich.

Being raised in the neighborhood, I was excited to have this place open up and wanted to make it regular place I go, to get my fix, but they have to work on some quality control before they have me be a regular. I really hope they listen to the customers concerns and revamp their process in the kitchen. I really want to see local halal businesses like this one succeed but the food has to be up to par.

The workers there are very friendly and the atmosphere is your nicely decorated burger joint.

“This was our first time trying Mediterranean food and certainly the first time trying this place. Food was actually really, really good and exceeded our expectations. Ingredients are very fresh, chicken & steak shawarma was flavorful. Food was light but very filling. One thing though, the music was way too loud and we thought we ordered two bowls. Slight miscommunication but the man at the front was extremely friendly. Everything turned out fine because that one bowl was filling enough for the both of us! We've been very health conscious these days so we'll definitely be back. This and Pokeworks is now our two favorite spots.“

“I've been ordering lunch delivery here for a while now. Each time, the experience has been amazing. Yes, they are pricey, but the food and presentation are so worth it! I loved the kippered salmon sandwich. I cannot get enough of their butternut squash soup and the varied fresh juices. The tomato soup is also good, and the tuna panini. Now, the avocado salmon sandwich surpassed my expectations! Everything is always fresh and tasty and leaves you with a healthy vibe. The only miss was the “make your own salad” which I would never try again, better to go with what they offer on the menu.“
