We've just moved to Stamford from NYC and discovered The Outpost when we were exploring the area around us. What a revelation! The food is here is simply marvelous, sourced from smaller boutique farms that care about their product. We were not familiar with A2A2 Dairy until we found Farmer John, but now will drink or eat nothing else. If you order off their menu, be prepared to wait, but it's well worth it. I am so grateful for discovering a hidden gem this year known as the Outpost in Bedford. I drive up once a week, sometimes twice for the CSA box full of fresh organic fruits and veggies. While there I always pick up great soups, prepared foods, meat from John Boys farm and bakery items to get us through the week. The food is good, and has a Made Here, Not Assembled Here, vibe. The portions are large. Prices are high, even considering those. (That's Bedford) Choices are mostly sandwiches, breakfast stuff. There are a few places to sit inside, plus take-out. Service is OK. It's also a small grocer, with some veg, fruit and meat from local farms. No WiFi. Toilet could use some attention.
