Really good ambiance and very tasty, pro-made food, a lovely romantic spot in a tiny one-horse town. Only thing is...it's heavy food, man. And you can't choose what you want, it's a fixed multi-course menu, which to some maybe is nice, but it's not what I or my partner normally like to eat, as it was pretty unnecessarily decadent, and I left way too full of oil, butter, carbs, red meat and sugar. That being said, it's probably one of the better restaurants in the Catskills area, for sure. It's quality stuff, and worth a visit.

I love coming to Brushland! My partner is vegan, gluten-free, and nightshade-free. They consistently accommodate him with a delicious and specially-prepared meal. The wine list is lovely and has a strong focus on local wines. I had the best salad I've ever eaten here, and some of my favorite desserts. The service is always fantastic. Sometimes the restaurant gets a big loud, which doesn't bother me, but did bother my parents. It is pricey, but for special occasions, very worth it.

This is my favorite restaurant experience in the world. The same time seating, the atmosphere, the food, it’s all amazing. You won’t find anything like it anywhere else. The owner and chef remembered after nearly two years that my wife and I enjoyed their olive oil cake and surprised us at the end of the meal with a little slice to take home—even though it wasn’t on the menu! Lovely spot. Lovely people.

We came here for a special seafood dinner and meal was absolutely delicious and brilliantly executed. I especially appreciated the wine recommendation, which complemented the food wonderfully. Will definitely come back

Simply the nicest dining experience we can remember from start to finish. It's different when you sign up for the menu sight unseen and get to see how a kitchen can knock out every course better than the next. Staff was a delight to interact with and the room just had a great vibe and atmosphere to it. We'll be back.

The ambience was dark, moody, relaxing. The food was very much dressed up versions of home cooked meals, nothing extraordinary but still delicious and worthy of a weeknight out when you don't feel like cooking but still want something familiar and cozy. The whole vibe was supposed to be a collective eating experience, so we expected to the chef to introduce himself personally and make some time with the small number of guests allowed to attend each night, but it was clear that some diners personally knew the chef/waitresses and got all/most of their attention. We felt like we and a few other guests were just there to fill up space, nothing different than if we were to dine anywhere else. So that whole "collective" experience felt a little off. They also had to stick to some odd script/schedule because our waitress was in a weird hurry to clear our drinks. She stopped by several times to check how much progress we made on our drinks and the last time she did, she just removed our drinks without asking if we were done.

I've eaten some of the best meals of my life at Brushland. There is no other place like it: welcoming in a way that distinguishes it from pretty much any other restaurant. Rather than the palpable stress that you usually feel in a restaurant, the laid back vibe and quiet but methodical kitchen is possible due to the simple and humane format: 1 meal, 1 service, three nights a week. If the attention to detail in the food - every course, every morsel - doesn't melt the hard heart of the reluctant cynics among us (note the angry posts here about hipsters and outsiders), the kindness and generosity of the owners will (just to be clear, the food is stellar). While it is not cheap, it is worth saving up for a special occasion. The food and ambiance could easily be two or three times as expensive and it would still draw a sizable crowd. And the portions are very generous - often a complimentary cocktail and digestif and you always leave full. Attentive but unobtrusive service. This is a place where the "flow" has been perfected, and as a guest you have the privilege of being part of something rare and wonderful. Farm to table, with French and Persian influences. I hope that you can experience what we experience at Brushland.

Went last year for a meal after hearing the hype and were terribly disappointed. They gave a speech at the start of the meal which was lovely and we liked how they passed the tray of after dinner drinks from one guest to the next. Both of those created a lovely spirit of connection. Other than that, would never go back. The food was awful. Not one good thing to say about it. Not sure why they get these glowing reviews but the "Emperor has no clothes" comes to mind.

Truly a unique experience. There's a single 5-course menu and a single seating. Chef introduced himself and the staff at the outset and encouraged everyone to make it more than just about eating food and instead engage in a communal experience. The night we were there - which sounds like most nights - everyone was up chatting and celebrating together. Really, really wonderful evening

This is the absolute worst meal I’ve ever had at what is touted as an upscale dining experience. The so called chef who openly admits in his self serving speech to the diners has had trouble with inspiration. Might I suggest he sample a meal at Mill Pond Inn. It’s not far from his establishment and he will locate the flavors he is sorely missing

This was the worst meal I ever had. The food was inedible. Go at your own peril. $75.00 that you must pay in advance not including wine and beer plus tip for raw vegetables and no flavor.
