We just happened to stumble upon this bakery on a walk on the Maybrook trail. Wow is all I can say. The service and food was amazing. We cannot wait to go back!! So many yummy things to try.
David and Michelle are fabulous chefs and the wider Brewster area could not be luckier to have them!! The straddle that very tricky divide between bread and pastry, doing both very well. I love great pastry and have been looking for a place like this for years. We drive 25 minutes to get there with no regrets! Thanks guys for joining the pantheon of wonderful pastry shops! We have had great lunches here before. I took my wife here for her birthday breakfast. She (and I) loved it. Everybody was festive and the food was extraordinary! The eggs were made special for her in a plate with very nice rye toast on the side. We will definitely return here for breakfast or lunch (or a delicious pastry snack!)Parking: Handicapped spot convenient right by the front door, with a convenient ramp.

The desserts were delicious! We got pecan pie, apple pie, cream puffs, and carrot cake. They were all good.
Fabulous deli with an assortment of delicious deserts! A quaint little dining area with books and other reading material to enjoy while having an afternoon tea.

Great bake shop in Brewster. (Formally norms restaurant and bar) I enjoyed a breakfast sandwich and very hot cappuccino. I took a few cookies to go 2 chocolate chip and ginger molasses.

We were visiting from LA and WE FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE. Not only was it super delicious, it was also welcoming and very clean. The people working there are amazing and always smiling. We had breakfast there twice during our stay and wanted to go a third time but unfortunately they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Highly recommend!!!!
General Bakeshop is like going to a museum. Everything there is, not only scrumptious, but a work of art. I love that place
