I always have a great time when I come to Con Sofrito but today was extra special. The food and drinks were amazing and the service wad beyond 5 star. If you are looking for upscale service in a down to earth family environment then this is the place for you. I highly recommend the whole red snapper with fried rice as it is out of this world! My husband ordered an additional ordet of the red snapper meal to go for later lol. Thank you for a wonderful evening Con Sofrito! We will definitely be back again soon!

I went on a Saturday night and from the moment I got in the front door I didn't like it. Group of pp smoking weed in front of the main entrance. No one there to check you for weapons. Music was so loud couldn't even talk with my friends without screaming, and people were dressed like if they came from a ball park. I had to stand around for a while because there was no place to sit. I was disappointed. I guess I'll give it another try but not in a Saturday night.

The pernil was juicy but underseasoned. The salmon was cooked to perfection but was also not well seasoned. The avocado salad was fresh but their house dressing was too sweet. Oil and vinegar would have been great. The mini shrimp mofongo was not good at all.I would go back for the items that I enjoyed. They are worth the trip. I also would like to try the oxtails. If I could rate the place 3.5 stars I would.

This was unnecessary, just tell us straight up when we call, switching up last minute is ehhhh. We figured it out but it would've been nice to be told the "truth" (I don't think they purposely lied but you know) Okay, let's start with this mandatory $55 three course party menu when you reserve. (No drink included) That's ridiculous and it's a stupid idea. We decided to just walk in, on a Friday night and we got a table no problem. (If you walk in, you're allowed to order what u want. If you reserve you're forced to spend 55 on three courses , two being family style and then another 15-30 depending on your drink, plus the tax and gratuity and it's limited choices) Also , the automatic 20% tip is a bit weird. Our server deserved every cent of it but what if they didn't? make sure your employees are paid fairly please. The prices - for the food - yeah the prices are not it. The small ass empanadas for $7 and one half barely had meat. It didn't taste right. You can't call yourself "con sofrito" with bland foods :( The wings should not be no $14 but they were nice. We give them our main course choices and about 15 minutes later they come with the main courses and want to take the appetizers that we barely begin to touch 5 minutes later they came with takeout boxes and began to ask us to put the appetizers away or if they can take them they also we're rushing us for the dessert platter before you know it they were asking to take away the main course I had the paella it was beautifully presented but tasted absolutely disgusting and salty the muscles had a copperish aftertaste and the clams were extremely chewy as well as the calamari the fish the filet of soul was extremely salty as well no one was satisfied with the taste the drinks were extremely watered down. They bring us the dessert order and 10 minutes later without even letting us know they come out with the birthday cake singing Happy Birthday as we are singing Happy Birthday they come to the table and remove the dessert platters we barely touched them and also we weren't even able to get pictures singing Happy Birthday because by the time we got to the birthday table the birthday cake they were mid-song. So we go to our table they removed the dessert platters and we're eating the birthday cake while we're eating the birthday cake the servers are impatiently waiting on the side looking at us making us feel uncomfortable waiting for us to hurry up and finish I did not drink and ordered club soda which I never received they charged and removed full drinks. The place was reserved from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. it was only 7:30 the bill was about $2,000 and the food was absolutely disgusting no one finished and no one enjoyed it. Everyone that ordered the paella experience sickness I myself got food poisoning had to go to the hospital ended up with a $800 bill. As we were exiting the restaurant on the corner walking to a car there was a family of humongous rats about 10 of them everyone was absolutely terrified. I suggest to not come here unless you just want to sit down listen to music in the dark and take pretty pictures because that was the nicest thing I can say about them. The food got everyone sick tasted horribly salty but again the presentation was beautiful the service made us feel uncomfortable we were rushed and charged for it. My sister tipped very well considering all of this because she's a good person but it was one of the worst experiences we had. I wrote the owner and didn't get a response instead I looked at his reviews and they displayed all the great reviews to make it seem as if it was a great place but if you read all the reviews on Google you will see that many were disgusted and also unsatisfied with the service as well as the taste of the food. I will follow up with the department of Health because I got terribly sick. Horrible cramps violent ly throwing up. Unfortunately we have to give them that one star but if it was up to me they get zero Stars so my suggestion is to avoid this place if you value your health and money they are extremely overpriced for the quality of their service and food.

The rice is oily and mushy (best way to describe it). The steak was also oily and bland. Who serves skirt steak without a chimichurri sauce if it is going to be so bland. The egg was just as I love it. The maduros were good, not oily. The food is extremely pricy for it not to have that flavor with a name like Con Sofrito. I will say, what some appetizers that were very yummy. We had the empanadas and mini mofongos, which were very good. I doubt I will go back. If I do, it may just be for the appetizers. Although everyone deserves a second chance. Maybe it was just a bad day. I really would hate to pay those prices again for it only to taste just as bad.
