Big Daddy's Caribbean Taste Restaurant

Love this place, the food, the staff, everything about it. Get the Burnt Ends and Grits and the Pasta Jambalaya and thank me later... Also, the blackened chicken is arguably perfect.

They are great at Big Daddies! I requested my favorite dish from there that appears as a special from time to time and they made an order for me, the music from the band was good, and they have the best gumbo I've ever had! I go here a lot and it's bc the food, atmosphere and service can't be beat!

15-20 yrs ago I used to buy jerk chicken from bug daddys all the time. I was a frequent customer because the jerk chicken and jerk sauce was the best I've ever had and letme tell you, I've had alot. The sauce was so good I used to buy it to try and remake it.

Went there today and expected to partake in the best only to sadly be disappointed. The sauce is completely different and not good. The chicken was mediocre. We tried some of their fried chicken just because it was just put out and it wasn't that good. I dont really care about the fried chicken but disappointed in the jerk chicken.

Service was inattentive, not sure if understaffed or inexperienced. Food was very average. Staff did not seem happy to be there.

I cannot believe that a restaurant this busy on Long Island does not carry Chardonnay. I had the chicken fried steak and it was mediocre. I also feel they should throw in a regular meal for picky eaters and children like a regular burger or mac & cheese. The menu is way too limited. The salad was great and a nice size to share. The wings were very good. and the margheritas were very good.

Great gumbo for nonfish eaters. We always like the bread and butter served before dinner but they ran out of their bread at 630. That was disappointing. The crawfish and catfish meals were delicious, as was our friend's Asian ribs. The music is loud but great. No live music this night but we always enjoy the vibe.

We were seated right a way. The staff service was as polite as they always are.our dinner was delicious!

Food is always outstanding. The drinks are on point. The staff are friendly and attentive. Always a fun night out.

Food was good and the portions were large. My only gripe would be the decibel level of the music...it was a chore to speak with others at your table at times, other than that it was an enjoyable night.

Prices went up and the portion sizes compared to previous visits are much much smaller. Although the food is delicious not the same value like it once was.

Good food, fantastic service. We asked to sit outside because of the incredibly loud music inside. Pluses: really good live band, flexible waitstaff, good food. Minus: too loud to even think inside the building, much less hold a conversation. We'd go again... and sit outside! Easy to hear the music through the wall and windows without being overwhelmed by it.

Big daddy's is my family's favorite we go here for almost every occasion and sometimes randomly they have the best gumbo, the best catfish and don't even get me started on their alligator!

Music was way too loud but easily the best Southern spot on Long Island and high up there in NY!

Service was a bit slow but waiter was apologetic. Unfortunately, no bread was given out at the start of the meal which has always been the case. Our food was delicious. The noise level was ok but the music was blasting. No reason for that. It should be in the background so people can hear the people seated with them speak.
