I've always wanted to go to City Island, a far-flung neighborhood of the Bronx that's a schlep from most parts of the rest of the city, especially if you rely on public transport. But we had the opportunity to drive there, and decided to go to CIYC for dinner. The staff were wonderful and welcoming from the moment we called to make a reservation. One wasn't needed, it turned out, but in booking it, we did secure a table with beautiful views of Pelham Bay, and the city on the horizon. The food was wonderful, and we're happy we ordered the new Mac & Cheese recipe the chef tried. We even learned a little about the local life from our server who was a proud "clam digger". The restaurant is open to the public, attire is casual, and parking is available.

Excellent food, great service, and a beautiful view. What a wonderful find that’s so close and yet feels so far from the city.

This is where you want to be. It's more like family!

I don't think "unfriendly" would be accurate, but certainly inhospitable to transients. Called to ask about dinghy dock usage: "no, we don't really do that". Asked about transient mooring: "Well, thunderstorms are forecast, and we have sailing school going on." Seriously????

Sailing school. Transient moorings available. Restaurant Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Clean restrooms and showers.

CIYC is a welcoming, self-functioning marina for boaters. The members are friendly, helpful and have great camaraderie. The view of Eastchester Bay from the porch is exceptional. The sponsor races, teach ASA approved sailboat operation for children and adults. CIYC located in the Bronx and the island and Orchard Beach offer a full day's worth of great attractions, shopping and fine dining.

Total fucking ripoff. I know they need to make money off the club menu but everything is frozen/fried, the staff couldn't give a shit, and wait til you see what they charge for one glass of wine. Appalling.

The first thing you realize stepping onto The Galley's porch and looking at the Manhattan skyline is that you haven't left the city, but instead found a pleasant perch in New York's version of a New England shore town. The Galley‘s food is excellent. From the pulled pork sliders that are a main masquerading as an app, to the hamburger-sized crabcake nestled in greens, to the Caprice sandwich, and the grilled Atlantic salmon - freshness rules. Yes, there is a beef burger – it's big and juicy and like all the sandwiches comes with homemade potato chips. And the strawberry and spinach salad is almost as much a dessert as it is a first course. Oh - and the bartender makes a mean Mojito. Others have complained of slow service. And yes, just as the industry is experiencing a worker shortage, so is The Galley. But on the upside, this means you have more time to enjoy that view. (Full disclosure: I am a member of the CIYC and have eaten at the Galley since it opened in mid-May.)

This was my third time eating at CIYC. In previous visits, I enjoyed the spinach-strawberry salad with chicken and the burger. This time, there was a special Memorial Day menu consisting of brisket, pulled pork and sides. My date and I enjoyed it very much! The food and the service were great, and you can't beat the views from the back porch!

City Island Yacht Club is our favorite place to spend time from May to October (during the sailing season). We moved our boat here a few years ago and can't imagine sailing out of any other club. The convenience factor, incredible community of friends and affordability is hard to beat. Nothing better than enjoying sunset and a meal with friends either on your boat or on the club porch, overlooking Manhattan -- it never gets old.

This was the worst restaurant and experience my family has ever had. The wait for food was more than an hour and a half for a party of 6. The waiting staff had no clue what they were doing. People were leaving and when the food finally made it out it was subpar. DO NOT GO HERE.

Would not go here again. Made the mistake of reserving for Mother's Day. The staff was not friendly at all. They were slow to take our order, bring beverages. Half our party received their lunch and the second half received their meals after the first meals were already eaten. The food was not good. Chicken was inedible, shrimp and grits was watery. The staff barely seemed apologetic for the issue and still took forever to bring the check. Will not go back again.

Best location to sail and meet a diverse group of sailors around NYC. One of my favorite places. Unbelievable sunset...
