CIYC is a welcoming, self-functioning marina for boaters.The members are friendly, helpful and have great camaraderie. The view of Eastchester Bay from the porch is exceptional. The sponsor races, teach ASA approved sailboat operation for children and adults. CIYC located in the Bronx and the island and Orchard Beach offer a full day's worth of great attractions, shopping and fine dining.
The first thing you realize stepping onto The Galley's porch and looking at the Manhattan skyline is that you haven't left the city, but instead found a pleasant perch in New York's version of a New England shore town. The Galley‘s food is excellent. I've always wanted to go to City Island, a far-flung neighborhood of the Bronx that's a schlep from most parts of the rest of the city, especially if you rely on public transport. But we had the opportunity to drive there, and decided to go to CIYC for dinner. The staff were wonderful and welcoming from the moment we called to make a reservation.
