I recently stopped by Hudson Smokehouse in the Bronx and ordered the brisket, turkey, mac & cheese, and baked beans.
The brisket was the standout: tender, properly smoked, and sliced thick enough to hold its structure without drying out. It had a deep, smoky flavor without being overpowered by sauce. The smoked turkey was equally impressive—juicy, well-seasoned, and a great lighter counterpoint to the brisket.
On the sides, the mac & cheese was rich and comforting with a solid balance of creaminess and bite, while the baked beans had good depth—slightly sweet, slightly savory, and clearly simmered with care rather than treated as an afterthought.
Service was friendly and efficient, and the overall atmosphere felt casual and unpretentious—exactly what you want when the focus is on the food. If you’re looking for reliable, well-executed barbecue in the Bronx, Hudson Smokehouse is absolutely worth a visit.

My brutha told me about this spot near 138th and the Bruckner Blvd that has good smoked foods. He's practically a meat connoisseur so I was curious to see what this place was about. The inside definitely gives me cozy, barbecue house vibes; the wooden furniture and bar was a nice touch. Kinda like how you would order at a fast food spot, you go up to the counter and order what you want and a waiter/waitress will bring you your order. They have a 5% off discount if you pay with cash 🫡 They have brunch and happy happy hour menus too, as well as catering. I had the 6 piece smoked jerk chicken wings with two sides, the mac and cheese and seasoned french fries. Everything tasted good to me 😋 I'm a big foodie so I'm content so long as I enjoy the meal. The jerk sauce was authentic, made me have a glass of water on standby. The meat was tender and cooked through and through. The Mac and cheese was flavorful and was made with a different noodle than the usual macaroni noodle (I forgot the name, but it's one of those spiral ones). The fries were seasoned well and not overpowering either 👌🏾 I also drank the Bacardi punch, it was sweet and refreshing in my opinion. I can definitely see myself coming back to this corner spot, I'm thankful for my brutha for inviting me out last night 😎🍗 He loved his food too 😁

I’m not a huge reviewer but I felt compelled to leave this one. I called to inquire about placing an order for a company lunch we were hosting. I spoke with Ken and explained my situation and pricing requirements. Not only did they accommodate our needs, but Ken opened up early so I can pick it up in time. Service you don’t see in today’s world. On top of all, by far the BEST smokehouse I have ever been to. Brisket was out of this world! Thank you Ken for your superior service and amazing food! Best potato salad ever !! I ordered the half rack of ribs, they were falling off the bone! The service was good. A real family vibe. Will definitely be coming back again! The girl who was at the register was a big help being that it was me and my boyfriend’s first time. She gave us good recommendations that fits our palette.

I order the half rack because I wasn’t that hungry but it was really good the meat was perfect cooked, I didn’t like the Mac & cheese but I give to my friend and he almost eat the container hahahaha and I know next time I make sure I go ready to eat a full rack. Good job guys

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN THE BRONX HANDS DOWN. Baby… them Brussel sprouts is to Die for ! That pork belly (succulent) That Brisket (AMAZING) That mac n Cheese has the perfect creaminess to it . That cornbread, I promise you someone granny back there with that Recipe ! 😋 Atmosphere cozy and welcoming 10/10 ! What are you waiting for? You mind as well come experience this for yourself . Tastes like unseasoned people are playing in the kitchen. The pulled pork had no taste. The barbeque sauce was sweet and bland. The slaw was dry. The green beans were fresh and the bacon was a nice addition as no other seasonongs were used. The macaroni and cheese was decent but not baked as I'd expect from a smokehouse. The banana pudding was ok but strangely devoid of bananas. The deep fried pb&j was disappointing. I didn't know what to expect but I didn't enjoy the strong taste of the oil. To be fair, I've never had a deep fried pb&j so my distaste may be a matter of preference and not the fault of poor preparation.
In short, I wasn't expecting a lot and somehow still got less than I expected.
