When in NYC, Take the 1 train to VanCortland Park and walk to Lloyds for the best Carrot Cake. Moist, fresh & still delicious.
Parking: If you get to VanCortland early, you should find parking. It is not readily available. You will get a ticket. Lloyd’s was the go to for cakes, when I lived in the Bronx. Lloyds has a variety of cakes and they do sell slices.

Lloyds has been A neighborhood staple since I was a kid. They are so friendly and their carrot cakes are out of this world. I went in today to pick up a cake for my mother’s birthday and inquired about which flavor would be best, with raisins or without.
