I was really excited to try this place and generally it was nice but the salami stick I bought really bummed me out. Extremely dried out and un usable and 10 dollars a stick!!!

Incredible vibes. Great sandwich menu. Fresh deli options. Everything you want from an old fashioned Italian deli. I loved it.

I must confess, with all due honesty, that I have never been particularly partial to deli meats. Mountains of cured flesh and extravagant layers of cheese have seldom appeared to me as the very emblem of wholesome living. Yet there are establishments which transcend the simple matter of nourishment, and Mike’s Deli upon Arthur Avenue is assuredly one of them.

One does not enter such a place in pursuit of refinement or fashionable culinary artistry. This is no temple of Michelin distinction, where minute portions are arranged with scientific precision and served amidst unbearable self-importance. Rather, this is an institution of the people, a place born of labour, tradition, and appetite.

My lady, upon sight of the sandwich, displayed a degree of enthusiasm which bordered upon the theatrical. And as we ourselves were in a state of considerable hunger, the meal performed its office admirably well. The bread was fresh and possessed a commendable firmness; the meats were abundant; the cheese substantial and satisfying. It struck me as the very foundation upon which a proper deli sandwich ought to be constructed; honest, generous, and devoid of pretension.

The cheese balls, however, inspired less admiration. My lady found them rather bland, a sentiment with which I am regrettably inclined to agree. Though crisp upon the exterior, they lacked that richness and vigour one naturally expects from so indulgent a creation. They were by no means offensive, merely forgettable.

And yet, such minor disappointments scarcely diminish the charm of the establishment itself. For Mike’s Deli offers something increasingly rare in modern society: authenticity. It feels as though one had stepped briefly into the living history of the Bronx itself.

This is not fine dining.

This is where ordinary men and women came to enjoy a respectable meal at a respectable price. There is dignity in that simplicity, and perhaps even a certain nobility.

If you want that real Italian American expierence, please come to Mike's Delicatesen in, Little Italy in the Bronx,
If you want humor you can get that too, their are artichokes marinated of course, you want salami, hard, genoa, spicy Calabrese? Of course paying 22 a lb for Mortadella is normal, but that's imported.
Did you want some formagio? Better known as cheese, Begging Parmigiana? Provolone tickets your nose as the delivery has pepperoni hanging, plus whole legs of prosciutto hanging over head, cans of pasta con Finouchia, decorate the small shelves, olive oils, dried oregano, jars of pickled peppers, did I forget to mention delightful balls of mozzarella, olives, decorated with carrots, cauliflower, celery, barrels of olives, enjoy all the special sandwiches, plus home made breads and ricotta pie, during Easter Season, if you aren't going to Italy, then you should come To Little Italy and enjoy the Italian delicacy at Mike's Italian Deli!

This isn’t just a deli—it’s legacy on a plate. The moment you step in, there’s an unmistakable sense of authenticity. No shortcuts. No pretense.

Just tradition, done right. If you coming and there's a long wait. It's worth the WAIT. This isn’t fast food.
It’s heritage. Precision. Flavor with purpose. Consistent, authentic, and deeply satisfying.

An true Arthur Avenue staple with great price as they possibly can be during these Mandami times.

Absolutely TERRIBLE place and HORRIBLE SERVICE and OWNERS ARE AWFULL!!!
I ordered sandwich that suppose to be with pesto sauce and balsamic vinaigrette which he didn’t bother to put on, and when I confront him he yell at me saying that he did put some! Also, there was big chunk of hard plastic or glass was in my sandwich and he said that it’s comes with prosciutto! And worst of all he didn’t want to refund my money and my tip! I don’t care if you 40 year Olin business,it’s DISGUSTING OWNER AND PLACE ALL TOGETHER! Make sure to check your order, otherwise they stealing your money by falsely claiming about their menu!!!

So nasty boss lady with running nose, that she wipes and touches the food, and Mike refused to give my money back by saying that they prepared soup for me… and I have to take it! Yes,that’s right, and it take 25 min! I don’t trust that place anyway! So now my money plus tips on disputes!
It’s a filthy place that doesn’t deserve your business!!! There is plenty Italian nice and clean places to go to!
