I went for brunch and had the Short Rib Benedict—truly mouth watering! Drinks were all expertly prepared. The friendly staff and comfortable seating contributed to the relaxed, welcoming vibe. I will be returning here frequently!
Influencer of fine liquids presents: THE LIST.An index of the best bars and restaurants you can guarantee will serve delicious cocktails and savory bites. This week we take you to After Life : @afterlifebushwick , located in the Bushwick part Brooklyn .After lifeIt’s always a great time at After Life! The cocktails are amazing, the vibes were great, and the service was expedient. The prices were great on top shelf cocktails and neat pours. Music is on point and guaranteed to set the mood for the rest of the night. Anthony was an excellent bartender and made sure my night ended on a high note. I definitely recommend this place for pre-Dinner drinks or for a nightcap or two.I’ll be sure to go back every so often for a few cocktails. Thank you @afterlifebushwick for the great time.
Came here on a Sunday night. Did not expect to walk into such a nice location and the bartenders, David and Andrew, were so welcoming and friendly. Had an amazing espresso martini made by David followed by some great laughs and conversation. Vibes in here are absolutely perfect. Can’t wait to go back.
Great food & vibes. Cocktail list and backbar were super solid. Few places in the area offer such a balance of hospitality, aesthetic, and product. Make sure to check it out while you’re in Bushwick.
Oh how things change…I was a big fan of the former establishment in this location — 983. I went in thinking it’d be similar, which was probably my mistake, but this is definitely aimed to be less of a casual brunch/lunch spot like 983 was, and more like a swanky cocktail bar that happens to also serve a few food items. The burger I had was good, but for $15 I found myself wishing it came with fries.Overall pretty good, but if you were a Life Cafe/983 fan, reset your expectations accordingly.
Stopped by here on the 4th of July on the way home from dinner. The service was great and the drinks were super solid. I got their version of a dirty martini - the brine they use is house made. Cool but also casual vibe.I didn’t try the food but looking forward to going again soon.
Wanted to check out After Life upon learning that place changed into something new. It became my favorite place to eat, drink and chill in the area. I can’t rave enough about the food. The truffle mushroom flatbread was amazing and best tofu I’ve ever had- not even a tofu fan but they did it so tasty. Burger was great too. Drinks delicious. Good vibes. Nice staff. I love After Life.
Great spot for amazing food (I had the burger my friend had the chicken sandwich) and of course the fries were ?? chef’s kiss. We had mezcalitas and they were Smokey, strong and honestly perfect The owner is amazing, the service is top-notch, honestly it’s Bushwick best hidden gem! I almost don’t want to tell people but the world needs to know!!
Good service, enjoyed the coffee. Their benedict was surprisingly good.
I had brunch here. While the food was great. - I had the chicken burger and a mimosa, I was really drawn in by the service. The bartenders, hosts, and table staff were all so welcoming. I will definitely be back for more food and drinks when in the neighborhood.

983 is an incredible breakfast spot that is chill on the weekdays and packed on the weekends. Go with the classics like eggs Benedict and you will not find much better in NYC. The atmosphere is casual and there are plenty of seats plus a bar. Tattooed brooklyn locals are the core demographic here which make this a relaxed place to get breakfast and drinks on a Saturday morning. Dope spot!
Dependably one of the best comfort food places in the neighborhood, for over a decade now. Service is great too.
I was happy it wasn’t too busy here. The atmosphere is cozy and nice. I was sad they took their Onion Rings off of the menu! To me it was the best item on their menu. I loved the sides I got, but unfortunately my boyfriend got food poisoning from the bowl he got.
Just enjoyed the club sandwich and salad and it was beyond my expectations. It was absolutely delicious....definitely will go back there again. ?
Great burgers. There are better chicken and waffle dishes in the neighborhood, but their's is still decent.
