I've been eating Acme herring in wine sauce for years. Unfortunately, the latest jar that I bought was mostly onion and very little herring. The taste seems ok but the quality seems to have slipped. I bought a second jar at another store (different BB date) and found the same thing... very little fish but lots of onion. I hope that this will change and that I'll find more fish in my next purchase of this product. If not I will change brands.

This package has not Expiration date the textured it was different, I had it before it was not the same textured so bizarre.

Tasty but, where's Waldo, where's the beef, where's the herring? Not much herring for a $10 jar. Mostly onions.

Six stars!! Absolutely the best tasting salmon dip I've ever had. I originally purchased it to share with my football buddies but when I tasted it just before the game I decided those jalapeno, cheese dip eating jocks don't deserve it. So for the next few days I was in bliss. Great texture, fresh flavor - awesome on a warm, crispy baguette. Give your friends the cheese dip, keep this for yourself.

We used to love Acme Nova Salmon. Not over smoked. However, we have noticed the last 2 or 3 times (seems since the packaging was changed) the quality has gone down. Slices are thicker, and more dark/tough chewy inedible parts. If you bite down on it, the whole piece pulls off your bagel or out of your sandwich. Hate to change brands, just hoping things will improve.

Great smoked fish at unbelievable cheap prices. 1/2 lb of kippered salmon in the supermarket is $28. We got 2lbs for $ 40.
