Unique food with a high focus on quality seafood cooked to perfection. The meat portions (quail and venison) were spectacular as well. Service was top notch.
This was such a special experience. The chefs tasting menu was delicious and each piece a work of art. There were many new flavors (for me). And dessert was like the finale at a fireworks display.
The dishes are exquisite in my opinion. Takes about 2 hours. Service was attentive and friendly.
Food and service were outstanding. There were at least two dishes I wanted to repeat. The design was a little minimalist and the music was very low, but that may have increased the focus on the food.
One of those dining experiences you dont forget, from the food, the dining room, and especially the staff it was the perfect balance of professional and relaxing.
The best NYC restaurant right now. Highly recommend if you want a really good dining experience.
Good but not as good as Aquavit
Definitely a experience of flavor and not really a meal but you find yourself full to the brim at the end.
Not for those light of wallet.

I've waited too long to give them the credit they deserve. Furthermore, workers approach customers with kindness. This place is worth a second visit when I'm nearby. Their food starts with properly sourced items. Your spending yields full benefits.

Absolutely exceptional experience. There was not a single miss in the food, wine pairings or service. Everything was a homerun. The team here is incredibly talented and passionate and my wife and I had a wonderful night.

Best meal I’ve ever had.
Mystical, almost monastic. The main dining room felt like stepping into a Viking mead hall after nightfall. Stark, shadowy, and reverent. Nearly everything was blacked out, with lighting focused only on the tables and the open kitchen. The rest dissolved into darkness. We could barely make out our servers’ faces, and their soft, hushed voices echoed through the room, making it difficult to catch the details of each dish.
No printed menu at the start (a small but deliberate choice that set the tone). As someone who usually studies each ingredient to anticipate how the flavors might unfold, I found it a bit disorienting at first. But at Aska, that wasn’t the point. The menu was presented only at the end. Instead, we were invited to experience each bite in the moment, to just trust and taste. Carpe diem in culinary form. And somehow, surrendering to that uncertainty made it all the more unforgettable.
Since the course ran long (14 dishes in total) I won’t get into the specifics of each, but more than half delivered genuine wow moments. While I’ve had seafood-forward tasting menus before, this one was special: they used every part of the ingredients with intention and restraint. The langoustine, for example, wasn’t just grilled and plated. Its head and shell were caramelized into a deeply flavorful purée. A custard made from brown crab brain sounds intense on paper, but here, it was delicate and incredibly balanced. That’s what impressed me most. The ability to fully embrace bold flavors without ever sacrificing the sensibility or precision of fine dining.
After the hake course, we assumed desserts were on their way, but instead, they surprised us with two final savory dishes: quail and venison. Compared to the seafood courses, these were more familiar and less daring, but still flawlessly executed.
