A great, old school, Italian restaurant! Crisp service by waiters in tuxedos. Veal dishes are outstanding, especially the Veal Parmigiano. Safe room for dessert and a perfect espresso. Try the cannoli.

Looking for some excellent classic southern Italian food? Old school, right out of a movie with waiters in tuxedos and decor from over 50 years ago. Fantastic chicken parm, mussels, eggplant rollatini. It’s been around since 1900 so they must be doing something right. Come down to Brooklyn and make sure you have a reservation. They do have valet parking too.#hollyshotspots

This place is an absolute gem. A Brooklyn institution. Recommended to us by a New Yorker, it did not disappoint, quite the opposite. It retains the unpretentious charm of a bygone era. The food is wholesome, genero and delicious. The service is fast and friendly but never overbearing. We're on a short visit so it may be a while before we return to this monument to Italian American cuisine; until then may it be enjoyed by others.

Love that this place hasn't updated since the 1950s and servers are all men in tuxedos. What a special piece of Italian restaurant history in Brooklyn. The tiramisu was magnificent. The risotto was creamy and filled with mushrooms. The chicken parm was a nice simple red sauce. The other tables on the floor were buzzing with classic martinis, fried calamari, and there was an old school cigarette machine in the front (epic). Is this the best most sophisticated Italian restaurant? No, but that's not the point - it's still special and homey and lovely. And Armando was a top server. Big fan.PS-casual clothes are ok, but no baseball caps allowed ?

Great old school service, classic American Italian style food done well. Home food
They still got it. Folks like Silvio, Mikey Diesel etc may come and go, or retire, but the Bamonte sisters are doing a great job taking over running things. A true relic in an ever-changing neighborhood. Keep that fire burnin'!!!

You need to have a reservation unless you want to sit at the bar. The food was good but not great. I was sort of disappointed because this place came highly recommended by several people and outlets but my chicken parm was pretty bland. My wife got the risotto and she enjoyed it.

This place was fantastic. Delicious old school Italian food, old school waiters and decor straight out of the times when the Brooklyn Dodgers used to eat here.
