Went last night for a little friend date. We were sat promptly at a nice two top by the front window. Our server, who was the most italian server I’ve had since Italy, described the specials perfectly. Everything sounded delicious and I wanted to hear him talk more. All the food was top notch. The mushroom pasta special was a bit pricey ($29 a little sticker shock) and could have used more of that mushroom flavor, however, the pasta ribbons were of a most excellent quality with a nice chew, so I was still satisfied. The best item of the night was the roasted cauliflower special with the piccata sauce. My only qualm was the server, though magnificent, described the dish as being accompanied by focaccia bread. Upon receiving the check I discovered the focaccia was a separate charge. Felt a slight sense of hoodwinked but no matter - it was delicious bread.Service is nice as relaxed in that very European way. It was nice to be given time and not felt rushed out. In fact, I requested the check, which often time a restaurant doesn’t afford you the pleasure of doing. Will be back for certain.

Since my first interaction with messages to actually being sat down was overall amazing! The ambiance beautiful, the service impeccable and food DELICIOUS! My partner and I absolutely love this place. We highly recommend coming in for any occasion also recommend eating at the bar because the bartenders are so genuine and nice! 10/10 overall!

We enjoyed a fabulous evening at the bar where we enjoyed dinner and drinks. Despite the truly awful young woman who served us at the bar we highly recommend Bar Mario. She is clearly miserable in her job and that is fine. Square peg. Round hole. We've all been there. Hopefully, for Bar Mario, she js fired soon, Just be forewarned by our experience eating at the bar.

I love this restaurant and 100% recommend anyone who wants Italian food to come here. The food is spectacular, I loved everything I ordered and our waiter even suggested a dessert that was incredible. Everyone in the restaurant was very friendly and very passionate about their work which made coming here even better. I will definitely be back, it was amazing!
My partner and I were spending the day in red hook with no real plan when we spotted bar Mario. The owner welcomed us and got us seated up the bar. Whoever decorated the interior did an incredible job- it's cozy, trendy and intimate. We ordered cocktails and they were fantastic. If we hadn't already eaten dinner elsewhere, we would've loved to have stayed for a meal. We both agreed we will be back for a date night soon.

I've been here two times. Food was delicious. I was surprised this restaurant wasn't packed both times. The ambiance is fun. Just wish their music is quieter so that I didn't have to yell so loud at my friends so they could hear me.

Incredible place!! Like others just happened to be in Red Hook that day, stumbled upon it, and what a find it turned out to be! Service and food was all impeccable. We started with the crispy Brussels salad, then for mains angoletti and spaghetti hangover. Both delicious!Special shout out to Enrico and the staff for the incredible hospitality

Drinks were absolutely fantastic, with an attention to detail and craft that is unmatched. I had a mocktail mule, it was fresh, crisp, and well-balanced. I didn't have any food there but it smelled amazing. The staff were incredibly warm and smiling and attentive, 10/10 service.
