Briscola Trattoria is a nice, cozy, and warm Italian trattoria in Brooklyn, considered a true gem in the neighborhood. It offers authentic cuisine with classic but also very unique dishes and flavors that are more difficult to find stateside. The atmosphere is cozy, inviting, and feels very welcoming.
The food is consistently excellent for any meal, from brunch to dinner. Standout dishes include the tagliatelle al ragu, which is an absolute standout and the best pasta many have ever had. Other highlights are the ravioli, the lasagna, the pasta with chickpeas, the baccala cod, the wagyu carpaccio, the squash appetizer, the tartare, and the fish entree. The rotating seasonal menu offers plenty of options for both vegetarians and meat eaters. For dessert, the tiramisu is the best, with perfect sweetness, and the pistachio cake or pistacchio pie is also a huge favorite.
The service is great and phenomenal, with staff making excellent recommendations. The experience is highly recommended, making it a favorite for a regular neighborhood rotation.
