Overall love this place..but there's one reason I'm writing this as a 1 star.

The cakes... The cakes are too expensive for the less than adequate quality. The cakes are 1.5-2.5/5 on average, but never exceeding 2.75/5.

The way I ran this is 1 point per these 5 categories:
- moistness -.25
- flavor -.5
- texture -.5
- freshness -.25
- value -.25

The ice cream is delicious but there are kids running around and it STINKS of diapers it made us sick. Too expensive to be grossed out while eating. I feel bad for the workers. Wont be back because everytime ive gone there it stinks.

Seldom does eating out feel relaxing anymore, but this place nails it. We got the “99 problems” sundae and it did not disappoint, along with a chocolate egg cream. Make the trip here and you will be delighted!

I would it give it two stars because I ordered the warm brownie sundae and it was almost $20, however today the brownie was hard in and out and the ice cream had freezer burns, but the whip cream was good. There’s so much writing everywhere but not one sign that says to seat ourselves and then come order, the only nice thing was the waitress had a good attitude.

The atmosphere of this place is just amazing. It’s more about the experience than the flavors. Don’t get me wrong; I enjoy the desserts, but they were perhaps a bit too sweet. I will definitely try them again, but this time I’ll share.

What I love about this place is that it feels like you’re stuck in time. They have preserved many original elements, so you really get the whole experience.

I understand this place is famous for its soda, and I didn’t try that this time. I believe I need to come back and update you on that.

The bathroom was spotless, and I loved the pictures that tell the story of the place.

I also need to mention the Affogato; it was really good! However, next time I will definitely share it because it was too much for me, and I consider myself someone who loves desserts and has no problem finishing one on my own.

If you’re visiting New York or live here and haven’t had the chance to visit this place, I highly recommend that you do. It’s amazing!

I love this place ❤️... when I come to my old neighborhood, this is always on my checklist of places to visit. I've absolutely love everything I've ever tried here with the exception of the chai soda float (🤬). It's a great place to take the kids or have a date night or day. I'm not crazy about the gentrification of Carroll Gardens, but these kinds of spots make it feel the way it was when I was a kid, and the neighborhood had real character and characters and was full of Italians & Puerto Ricans. 😉

I sort of take this place for granted as it has been in the neighborhood for so long (though I have been here longer!). I havent been here in years, but a friend suggested that we stop by the other day.

We had some ice cream which was good. For me, the point of stopping by is to be in an old school ice cream and soda "shoppe". It is very cute and old school and that's the beauty and charm of it.
