In looking for a place to have breakfast, we wandered in off the street to Brownstone Bagels. This is a completely unsubstantiated rumor, but me and my wife believe there is a hint of vanilla in the egg bagels, which makes them taste a bit like yellow cake mix. If you stumble across this review, definitely give the egg bagels here a try. Everything else here is excellent too.

we bought an Everything bagel with butter and a coffee on the first day of our trip - we were SOLD, made it our 1st stop of each day before going off sightseeing.
Have not managed to find a bagel as fresh or tasty since.
