This place is not what it used to be. I would rave about this place to friends for good music; now this hosts a rowdy crowd of people just trying to cut you while you've been waiting in line for the bathroom patiently on a busy night. My friend and I just got into the club, waited in line for a long time for the bathroom. A girl with a leopard fur hat was behind us and decided to stand by the front of the line, claiming that she's been there. They argued this with me and my friend even though we know what we saw. After some back and forth, one girl from the group grabbed my friend and threw her to the ground. We managed to calm the fight down while we waited for the next person to leave the bathroom. When we finally got in the bathroom they proceeded to obnoxiously knock on the door of the bathroom. When we came out, they kept harassing us and one of them put my hands on my face and pushed me and dragged me by my hair. Security came and asked what happened but one of the people from the other group who was harassing us worked there so they bought his story, kicked us out, and let them stay despite them giving my friend a black eye and a cut on the cheek. Security escorted us out when we did nothing wrong, and did nothing to remove the people who attacked us. All this on top of having to pay twice to get into an event we couldn't even attend. Unfortunately this felt very race-driven, as we are two asian women trying to enjoy a venue known for good music. Instead of being welcomed, we were driven out by people who feel they could do whatever they want because “they work there” and have connections to the business. When we were brought outside, a security guard asked us what happened. We told them what went down, and the questioned he asked was “If they leave the club will you guys come back in?” As if it matters? They attacked us, and yet they’d let them stay if we left. I left with a scratch on my face and my friend left with a black eye and deep scratch on her right cheek. This place is full of security and people who are just playing off connections and not the truth, and it’s obvious they’re letting those who work there feel entitled enough to let their friends and family cut to the front of the line of the bathroom whenever they want. I used to be a big fan of Cafe Erzulie, and after this night I do not feel welcome coming in as nothing was done even though we were attacked and instigated.

I love performing at this venue, I have twice, but the sound engineer has an absolutely terrible attitude. He was extremely rude to many of the other performers at my latest show on 10.17. Don’t think he should do this job if he doesn’t enjoy it.

What a beautiful vibe! I was there for Duendita’s concert! It was such a vibe! Will go back for sure! Only down sound is that the drinks are kind of expensive for its quality and amount!

We came here on a weekday night apparently when a whiskey company was doing a brand activation. We got some free whiskey along with some good food and jazz music.
Went with friends a few years ago. Owner was outright disgusting, and rude. He’s quick to kick you out no matter how much you’ve spent for absolutely no reason. Honestly it’s worth finding another gem. He’s not worth your money.

Had a significant birthday party here. Staff were uninformed about details from the top down, and security kicked my entire party of 100+ people out earlier than we'd agreed upon. Didn't help that the owner and operations manager were away that weekend. They clearly didn't relay the proper info about my party to the staff, which resulted in my entire birthday party ending on a sour note that ruined the entire evening. Won't be going back here and can't honestly recommend it to anyone else.

What a terrible experience! We were at this event and were told that after the private part was over, we could stick around and keep having a good time. Instead, they just kicked us out with zero respect! Plus, the drinks were ridiculously overpriced.

We attended a birthday party for a very important member of the Brooklyn community and we were treated with disrespect. The drinks were way overpriced and did not match the expectations of the guests. They used bottom shelf alcohol even though the price was so high. Also the event was supposed to continue into a planned event by the Cafe but instead we were kicked out aggressively and left on the sidewalk. We will not be returning and will not suggest this place to anyone.
