The service was a little slow but the food was great. They brought me more rice and beans to apologize for the main dish being late. The steak with onions and peppers was a solid 10 as were the rice and beans.
I recommend no other Dominican restaurant in sunset park’s other than El Buen Gusto. It’s been open since the late 80’s by the same owners who ARE Dominican so you will always get authentic food. PLUS, They deliver pretty far IF it’s a big order. In indoor dining is always great, place is very clean and the service is impeccable. They remodeled recently, so the place looks brand new. I chose this place to try the famous mofongo for the first time and I chose well. The food is delicious and the girl at the counter was very kind answering my questions about the portions and the nature of the product.
Friendly and serene service is really appreciated, even more so within an establishment foreign to American culture. An experience to highlight within the city of modern slavery that we call NYC.
