I cannot believe I just ate moldy sweet stuff from this store, look at the pictures, omg horrible.
Please do not sell moldy stuff
Food is okay, but the staff is unfriendly and made fun of me. The food itself (inside of the store) looks not too bad imo, but too expensive for what it is.
They sell expired food. Be careful.
Looks like they kept same produce from before they closed up a year ago. Watch for the expiration dates if they exist!!!
This place sold me frozen spoiled black caviar. The pixie cut older woman at the deli counter assured me that “all caviar is extremely fresh”. When I got back to my mom’s home and unpacked everything, the metal can had to thaw first, then I opened it, it smelled like dead fish and had white film on top of it. I needed the caviar for my mom, since her hemoglobin was extremely low. So, I brought the can back to the store assuming that they made an innocent mistake and would acknowledge it and give me fresh caviar. Instead, the woman at the deli counter at first said that “she has no idea about why this caviar is spoiled, since the management is the one in charge of ordering”When the manager came, the deli counter woman became aggressive and started accusing me of swapping the “the can she sold me just 4 hours ago with the spoiled can i brought back”. She basically called me a thief. I was horrified by such behavior. This was the first and the last time I shop at this store.
The manager refunded me for this purchase, but no apologies follow. I am deeply upset by this incident.
The most delicious food and a huge VARIETY! Always fresh and affordable prices! Amazing Staff and great customer service! They go above and beyond to please customers and make them feel welcome! Great selection of meats and hot foods, they even have a separate bakery section in the store there are 3 sections and they are all very well stocked and maintained! Fresh produce and you can tell that the food is made with love! Because it’s so tasty ? DEFINITELY ? COMING BACK FOR MORE!
I am not local, so for me Brighton is culinary tourism. I spent a weekend just wondering around and trying various foods, comparing them across different stores. I likes the deli department - the food was fresh, good, and many dishes tasted better than at other stores. Employees were friendly and helpful. Advised on good choices of food and their recommendations didn’t disappoint. I found the best Napoleon cake on Brighton to be sold here - way better than other stores. Will gladly come back on my next trip to New York.
A lot of fresh and cooked products. Good price and quality.
I have one complaint about this store. This is at the same time a request to employees. Please, for the love of all that is holy, stop forcing me to buy some kind of bread called challah EVERY TIME. How many times is this? Probably already 8-12 times on each of my visits. I know that this is religious bread and I have nothing against it being put up for sale here. But, again, why pester me to buy this bread? Moreover, this is done very boorishly at the place where they weigh you dishes from the salad bar, and then again the seller at the cash register offers you the same thing, albeit more politely. I want to notify the employees that I can get this kind of bread for free at the synagogue if I so desire and am so hungry. The rudeness is so unbridled, that one worker, in response to the fact that I refused to take this ill-fated bread into my basket, promised to REMEMBER ME (December, 8, 2023, about 2:15 pm) I even thought that they would track me and hit me on the head with a brick ... Of course, I’m exaggerating my feelings about the brick a little, but I absolutely don’t want to go into this store, and over the last week I was simply afraid to go there. Perhaps I’ll start visiting this store when I don’t see that employee, who weighs the products and who was rude to me in Russian, which I understand perfectly. I also understand that in this behavior of these workers there is a certain enthusiasm with an imitation of a live market, for example, like in the old days in the city of Odessa, which, by the way, I do not like. But I don’t like it, because I have a very bad memory of the market in Odessa, where they once tried to rob me, physically attacking me in order to take away my money. But I don’t live in Odessa, this is America and no one has the right to force me to give my money for something I don’t need and don’t want. But I advise people not to tolerate rudeness and respond sharply to insolent people in order to teach them a lesson. And the best thing, of course, is not to take risks and not to meddle in places where you are treated like brainless sheep.
An hour ago (3.55 p.m. 12/04/23) I was buying sausage in this store, the store employee Dima (a bald elderly Georgian in a white apron) stood out of line for a piece of cheese, after which he turned around and began to curse (!!!!!) me and the people standing next to me. I have a question, if he works for you as a cook, does he also curse the food he prepares? Take action! no desire to come anymore!

It’s strange to read rave reviews from two years ago, if the store was not open at that time due to a fire for about three years. I was glad that the store opened. But what happened?
1st trip to the store bought a spoiled product
2nd trip to the store I bought the wrong product because the price was mixed up
3rd trip to the store again spoiled salad
4th All soups without meat, regardless of the time of visit
5th, instead of pancakes with jam, there were pancakes with meat on the tray - should I return them bitten or what?
Well, the stupidest thing on the part of the management is to make a debit card from $8, although at the 4th Brighton, and at the 6th Brighton, and even in Tashkent, they abandoned this idea. Guess if I'll come back here again? P.S. Of course, I don’t buy pies because they contain stinking expired meat, rotten flour and burnt oil. Saleswomen are on the phone all the time - hence the mixed up prices

Gorgeous store, service, products and amazing cooking
One of the best store at Brighton Beach area ??
The “pirozhki” they are selling outside and advertising them as “the best, fresh and hot” are indeed fresh and hot, but it’s just totally bland, thick and at times half baked dough , while the filling is just tasteless meh. Same applies to the home made pastry. Don’t waste your money and consume those calories
