This restaurant always misses something from my order, paying attention to customers orders is important, the chicken wings had a bottle of barbecue sauce and was under cooked, the fish was three small piece, all the food I ordered for almost $60, and all I could stomach was the peas and rice, potato salad, and collard greens, never again.
If you're from the south and looking for a taste that's familiar in soul food this is the spot spectacular customer service and speedy service food was amazing

The food was delicious, no complaints on that front. Iced tea was definitely way too sweet and I prefer a sweet tea over the standard. But my biggest gripe with my first impression and ordering food from here is I’m 6 months pregnant and had a huge craving for macaroni salad especially with tuna, how I found this location and after $60 and a hour wait which I was more than willing to deal with, the ONLY reason for choosing this establishment was not in our order. Like ruined my evening honestly. As a person in the food service industry, pay more attention.

The chicken wings were not particularly seasoned but the batter was great. I enjoyed the Mac and Cheese. The cabbage was too oily and the collard greens were too salty.

I like the food because it’s authentic soul food, however what i will say; the flavoring on the food is inconsistent. Which makes me give it 3 stars. I feel like good food should generally taste the same for the most part despite the day. This missed the mark it’s like someone completely different seasoned this food. Not happy.

Disappointed. I’ve heard so many great things about this place, and I was met with none of the things. I had the Mac n cheese, Yams and fried chicken. Ha! The Mac n cheese was packed to the rim just for it to taste like vinegar. The yams were stiff and watery. Oh and the chicken wings were massive! Fried to perfection, seasoned well, but too big.

Absolutely the most disrespectful place I’ve ever been to. The staff have no idea how to speak to customers—rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. One elderly woman in particular was constantly yelling at everyone for no reason. There is zero respect, zero customer service, and no sense of basic manners.
This was my first and definitely my last visit. I’ve seen bad service before, but nothing this unacceptable. Avoid this place

Ordered the fried pork chops with collard greens, macaroni salad, rice and beans through Uber Eats and I was honestly very impressed. Was some of the best soul food I’ve had in a long time, especially in NYC where we don’t always get the most authentic southern cuisine. Portion was enough to split between 2 people easily. Would order again.

This is just my honest opinion. My wife wanted catfish...We were in Brooklyn so I searched. Here we are. Ordered Catfish, yams, Mac and cheese and collards w/ smoked turkey. To drink I had a large homemade ice tea and dessert my wife had peach cobbler.
The catfish was decent. I liked the taste but the cuts were a bit thin and crunchy because they were thinner and fried hard 3/5. Mac was simple and lacked a cheesy wow factor 2/5, yams were cut like I like them. Reminds me of my mother's but didn't taste as good as hers. They weren't nasty but not too my taste 2/5, the collards tasted pickled with nothing else coming through to help and could've been a little bit softer 2/5. The homemade ice tea was 1980s sweet....Damn. Had to water it down. It did have a nice taste to it though 3/5. The peach cobbler was my wifes, I don't eat it. She didn't like it. Only ate one spoon. She doesn't like much of anything so IDK what to rate that..... Overall the food was edible. Simple adjustments here and there and this could be a go to spot.... I'd eat here again. Maybe earlier in the day to get a earlier batch of servings.
