Security staff is disrespectful and aggressive towards women. When called out on their behavior they first refused to acknowledge it, then tried to cover it up with one of them going so far as to lie and say he was the manager, and when that didn’t work they got unnecessarily violent. This is not “one bad apple” but at least three (if not more) members of their security team (who they claim is contracted via All Star Security) working together.Freehold’s general manager, Brandon Gorst, gave me his card and promised to get me info but he could not be bothered to respond to any of my emails or follow through on his promises. I’m now talking to the owners who claim they’re “internally investigating” and “take this seriously” but also won’t answer my questions or provide any of the info I was promised over a month ago.Do yourself a favor and go to literally any other bar. This one is unsafe and unprofessional, and the staff are at best incompetent and more likely outright predatory.

Love this place--the drinks, the food, the staff, the space, the music, the crowd--the list goes on and on. The only thing I wish is that they would bring back their daytime coffee shop, it was by far my favorite coffee shop in NYC.

They don't respond to customer issues via phone or email. The staff are very rude and unprofessional. I had a situation of sexual harassment by security that could have been taken care of quickly and instead they accused me of lying about it.

I have never had the food here, although it seems like a nice place. I go to Freehold at night when it turns into a great club. It has a nice large outdoor area as well if you're looking for more of a beer garden feel. If you're out with all your friends, and you are all spending the night here, it's definitely worth it to order bottle service and get a booth.

I wasn't a fan of the drinks. The pizza was good. The bartender was also friendly and nice. I would probably come back if I want to catch up with a friend because it wasn't loud in there. It's a good place for conversation etc.

OKAY-- freehold during the day is kind of the vibe. It is AWESOME, huge patio outside, and inside is very light filled. (Fun fact: this was used as a scene in Just Like That, the reboot of Sex and the City... so you KNOW the interior is good if its used on a TV show). Their happy hour deals are amazing... - $6 smash burger - $6 cocktails (ANY OF THEIR COCKTAILS.. not just well.) Get their truffle fries with it, it's delicious (!!!) It's a great place to get work done, have a good catch up with a friend, and it's right next to Domino Park. Also, FYI Freehold does turn into a club that gets really popping at night, so just make sure you know when you come later.
I (a non-violent, sober, and disabled person) was assaulted by their security who had made an off color remark to my sister unprompted and then, instead of choosing to apologize like professionals (or adults with a shred of decency), chose to escalate the situation, get violent, and throw two non-violent people down a flight of stairs. Classy! Contacted management and will see if they care, but this is not a safe environment and their bouncers are some of worst I've seen my decades of working nightlife. Update: can confirm that the manager I spoke to, Brandon Gorst, is a liar who did not follow through on his promises or take any action whatsoever.

Stumbled across this place and I'm so glad! I loveeeeee that they have happy hour! I went on a Thursday and cocktails are only $6 from 7-close! The drinks are pretty good! Before 9 it's a nice like lounge experience but it does get packed! You can get like a private room for events I like how there are like tables and booths (wish there were a few more tables and booths Good music selection and good service And I like how the bathroom has many stalls Good location but it is a little hidden

I usually never write reviews, but after last night I needed to. I was groped by a man and when the bouncers came to investigate they asked me if i was "sure" and if i had "any witnesses" because "women lie". These are NOT GOOD PEOPLE. They actually ended up kicking my friends and I out while the man who assaulted me got to stay and party. The management is awful, the people that go here are predatory, and the music sucks. Also, I had a bartender throw napkins in my face to try and get my attention to hit on me. Overall, a terrible place and I would give them ZERO stars if I could.

This was my favorite place to go and i will probably keep going but DIFFERENT BARTENDERS CHARGE DIFF PRICES FOR THE SAME DRINKS AND THATS NOT OK. Management needs to go over the cost of basic drinks such as tequila n pineapple and it should not exceed $15 max. One day it’s $10 some days it’s $13 sometimes it’s 18! Which is it?! I complained so many times and the pretty bartender that is usually outside was so rude about it as if i was taking her baby away from her. Great music only on saturdays though. Gonna give it one more try after the 6 tries i gave it because this is my go to bar bc the drinks were the most affordable in the area but if they don’t have a set price soon i’ll be going to pianos moving forward.
