Nice location and it's truly easy to get to it. But overall the service is very slow, and the wait staff needs to improve there service skills. Going forward we had a nice size party and it was all hands on deck for them, in which they were not prepared for. They were very very slow. Also NO alcohol license, but maybe they will have that in the future. They need to work updating the decor. SELL the illusion of the customer being attended to quicker. VERY Good food, but needs to improve on the general hospitality aspect.
AND fast..

This place needs to close down, yall making Haitian look so bad. I don’t know how and why they have so many good reviews. My first order was a pate kode . When it arrived, u couldn’t even eat it because part of it was uncooked and bland ( how can u messed up a simple dish)
So I thought I gave them another chance, I bought Mac and cheese, diri djon djon and jerk chicken,. Tell me why the Mac and cheese was sooo sweet I had to throw it out and the jerk chicken was overcooking and don’t even look like jerk chicken. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

The food at this restaurant is great authentic Haitian food. However, the staff is highly unprofessional, rude, make up prices based off of what they think you are willing to pay, and beg for cash and tip. If you don’t mind the terrible customer service and soliciting fine but if you do I wouldn’t recommend at all ,such a shame. I really don’t like making these type of posts especially towards my own people but we have to do better.

1. The place is like every other Haitian place: they don’t believe in smiling or welcoming you. They put some unhappy lady in the front and she has no manners.
2. The waitress came and asked us to order appetizers ( what if we don’t want appetizers?)!! I asked her several times what they were offering for the time we were in (mind you in creole again) … She refused to answer and kept asking us to order appetizers first. After several attempts, she finally said they were serving lunch…
3. We sat down and it took them another 10 minutes to bring us some water. Never asked us if we wanted some drinks or the kind of drinks they had for the day…
4. Once we got our food, that girl just disappeared and never came back to check on us. We could hear them clearly talking and laughing, because the place is so tiny (tiny could be cozy, mind you)!
5. I had to go get the girl and tell her we needed to pay. She came and gave me a check with missing numbers (there was no ink)…then she finally said it was $152…I asked where to sign and how I could leave tips. She said I can tell her how much to take or give cash. I wanted to leave tips from my card…
She took my card back. I left $22 flat (15% of my bills). She went in and still managed to add 0.86 cents. I did write $22 (no decimals)…still gave 15% after all that bad service…
6. I do not recommend this place, unless the owner removes those paintings dragging on the floor (not the walls) with no place to put them , or fire those rude people. Insane to go to your own people and be treated like that!!!

Please stay away from this place. The service is horrific. The staff are extremely rude. I also tried to place a order over the phone. The woman that picked up was very rude and they actually hung up on me. this place needs to close the doors they’re going to be so rude to customers. We are the people that keep the business thriving

I was blown away by how good this food is. I visited last Thursday for the first time and my guest and I left very satisfied. We had the appetizer pictured here (griot, accra, marinade, and salad). The food came out hot and fresh and was well seasoned. For the entree I had the fried fish, with the macaroni, the black rice, meatballs, and fried plaintain. Everything was so delicious. I will be returning every time I’m in Brooklyn.

Went with my wife to eat, literally like 10 minutes ago. No one is there to greet you or even take your order if you wanted take out. They had the sit down area blocked off with no working bathroom. When we asked to sit down it seemed as if the worker did not want to have us in there. Seating is tight and floor fans block some of the chairs being pulled out. Social media hyped this spot but we were the only customers there. Didn’t even know any to eat after all that and left. Would want to see if it was an off day but not with service like this

Food was excellent but owner was preparing Uber orders, cooking, waiting on tables, preparing take-out orders all by herself. The 1 additional worker that she had did not speak English. I will always eat from this establishment but only will order thru UberEats.

Food was a 10/10!!!!! The staff is also very sweet and the food was fresh even though I came an hour before closing. I was confused that the total I paid wasn’t the price shown on the menu, I was told they recently changed their prices….Food is a bit pricey however the taste is unmatched.

Listen 10/10! The flavor is there, the service is there. Everything is just there. I’m from Miami so used to tons of Haitian cuisine, but I was very impressed by this restaurant and the spices in the food. Please try the lemonade. They put mint leaves in it and it’s just so good!!!

Disappointed but Honest: My Trip from Philly to NYC for Haitian Food

As a 42-year-old Haitian woman, it pains me to even write this—but I feel like I have to. Today, I traveled all the way from Philly to NYC just to enjoy a nice Haitian lunch, and I left completely disappointed. I genuinely wish I could say something different, but this was hands down the worst Haitian food I’ve ever had at a restaurant.

Let’s start with the meatballs—they tasted like the frozen ones you grab from BJ’s. No love, no seasoning, just bland and bouncy. The black rice? I could barely chew it. No flavor, no herbs, no soul. Just rice on a plate.

The legume was another letdown—completely off. Watery, under-seasoned, and nothing like the hearty, flavorful dish I grew up on. I’m honestly still in disbelief.

Now, I’ll be fair—the fritay was good. Crispy, seasoned, and authentic. That was the only thing that reminded me of home.

I’ve never been the type to publicly criticize Haitian establishments, but today I truly felt robbed. I spent my money, my time, and my energy hoping to support my culture and enjoy something comforting—and instead, I left with regret.

This isn’t hate. This is accountability. Haitian cuisine is beautiful, bold, and powerful—and we deserve better than this.

The owner Martine showed so much care in serving us. She took my order and prepared it to go. She was so polite. But more importantly than that, the food cooked here is AMAZING. Their bouillon and legume is *chef's kiss*! This is one of the best Haitian restaurants you can visit in Brooklyn!
