When I heard about @gahmnyc, I knew I must go and try. GAHM in Korean means "feeling" or "sense". Celebrity chef Esther Choi opened this restaurant in Brooklyn, featuring unique interpretations of traditional Korean dishes. Gahm by Mokbar offers a distinctive dining experience for those seeking authentic Korean cuisine. Everything was delicious. No struggle trying to think what to order because everything was tasty. The restaurant offers excellent service, with friendly and attentive staff providing great recommendations. The food is prepared with care and comes out quickly, featuring bold and comforting Korean flavors. The ambiance and service make it a fantastic spot for a night out with friends or a date. Remember to reserve ahead of time.
I got to try out:
Drink: Seoul Mule $16.00
Kalbi Mandu (Dumplings so good and tastes unique and different $13.00
Wiid Mushroom Pajeon $19.00
Sizzling Crab Fried Rice (MUST ORDER) $36.00
Dessert:Misugaru (their gelato is heaven. I can eat more! $13

Service has to be highlighted here. Our server was great. When we were curious about a drink, they brought out a sample for our whole table to try! They were just very attentive and good. The food was solid. If a menu item sounds good, it probably is. Pretty much everything we ordered was very well done, from the cook to the plating and the flavors, etc. While nothing blew my mind, it was yummy!

I have never eaten here without needing at least 2 song IDs. Best DJ, best drinks, and a super creative and flavorful menu. Nothing is bad. The bulgogi hits different.

Sitting can be tight, so make reservations in advance. The food is very good. I will be back to try other items on the menu.

Good Korean place with different flavor combinations. We ordered a bunch of food to share. Starting with the apps we got the boneless chicken and bone in fried wings. Both had different sauces, we found that we like the sauce to the boneless chicken but the crunch on the fried wings. We also had the scotch egg with the miso sauce. The brussel sprouts and beef buns (note only one bun in each order) are an absolute must! For mains, we found the short rib to be a bit tough and chewy. But the seafood beef and bean noodles were absolutely to die for. We were joking how we would eat that sauce with a spoon. We left stuffed with no room for dessert unfortunately. I would definitely come back to try that crab fried rice.

Wildly delicious. Never misses. Plus they'll go out of their way to explain things and make kid-friendly food. Service always on point. Can't wait to return.

Food is exceptional! I’ve been LONGING for good Korean food in this part of Brooklyn and honestly I feel like this place was an answered prayer.
The service needs a tiny polish (some wrong items came out) and the music could be louder for the atmosphere, but overall great.

This is a small restaurant in brooklyn with incredible food and an amazing staff. They were friendly and understood their menu very well. They are very mindful of any allergens that the visitors may have. The menu was delicious. It almost felt like I found new foods to eat. We visited with family group of five. We all enjoyed our meal. Pricing is a little bit elevated, but that's because you're getting elevated foods. This is not your local deli or a mcdonald's. However, it was well worth what we paid. As we have paid much more in other restaurants with high-quality ingredients. As we're presented to us here.

This korean spot was worth the hype! We visited around 6pm on a weeknight and there were plenty of tables open, even without a resy.
5/5 Crab Fried Rice-- absolutely a must order! The servers do a great job mixing the rice on the sizzling platter so there is plenty of scorched nurungi rice!
4.5/5 Mushroom Pajeon -- not at all like your classic seafood pajeon, had a crispy lace skirt almost like Chinese dumplings. Great mushroom flavor and a umami dipping sauce!

Never liked Mokbar, but Gahm...Gahm is upscale Korean done right.
- You've got your soupy, savory Halmoni Mandu for those cold, windy nights.
- You've got the delicately thin and crispy Wild Mushroom Pajeon wish just a dash of truffle for when you've got the munchies.
- You've got the Instagrammable Sizzling Crab Fried Rice, with all its shell-encased eggy glory, for the gluten-inclined (and those who caught Esther Choi on Iron Chef Legend).
- You've got the hearty Smoked Army Stew, complete with unlimited broth refills, to satisfy your hot pot cravings.
- And, for those who watched Iron Chef Legend and are smart enough to order OFF-menu, you've got your Spot Prawn Crudo with Gochujang Granita for flavorful raw shrimp and crab.
And for sober drinkies, I'd try the Seoul Mule mocktail for spicy ginger and the Strawberry Fields mocktail for freshly muddled, fruit tastiness. Side note: Cocktails are ~$19, mocktails with mock gin are $15, and mocktails without mock gin are $10.
I've generally disliked most upscale, trendy Korean restaurants I've been to, but if they packed as much flavor into as low prices as Gahm, that would've been different. Gahm's worth the schlep. And I never thought I'd say that for anything fancier than Cho Dang Gol.
