One of the better places to eat in Carroll gardens for sure. The tables are small, so you need to be conscious of how much you're ordering at a time. But the food, drinks, and service are always incredible. You want to make sure you have a reservation, especially on the weekend.
I’m embarrassed to say that we’ve been in the neighborhood all this time and this was our first meal at this warm, welcoming restaurant. We sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender about cocktails while we watched him work his magic. And everything we had was delish! The special “winter salad” may be the best salad I’ve ever eaten, anywhere, and the spaghetti al limone was outstanding. We also had lovely glasses of red and white wine from a nice Italian selection....
Gersi is a wonderfully cozy Italian spot with truly amazing food — especially their homemade pastas and their simple-but-perfect lettuce salad topped with grated Parmesan.
Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, and the surrounding neighborhoods are genuinely lucky to have such well-established Italian restaurants with consistently great dishes, and Gersi is definitely one of them.
